It’s trade deadline day in the MLB, with just an hour to go at the time of publication until all the deals are done. There may be some weirdness in various lineups, but even still, we’re looking at tonight’s slate to identify the best outright winner picks on the board.

Giants ML at Rangers
If there’s ever a night to take the Giants as a Moneyline underdog, it may be tonight. The visiting club heads to Arlington to take on the Rangers, who have dropped five straight games now and are in need of a spark. They may not find it though, facing RHP Logan Webb (6-7) who has a 3.93 ERA but a 1.12 WHIP. He’s not quite been himself, but this could be a get-right spot against a Texas lineup that lands on the worse side of its splits tonight with a .243/.316/.398 split against right-handers. That’s respectable, sure, but the poor momentum of the Rangers does mean something, as does the fact that Webb’s ceiling is so high when he’s locked in. Opposing batters are only 19-for-94 against him with a line of .202/.232/.298, an OPS of .530. He’s been very effective against them in the past and could rediscover his ace upside tonight, and if Texas goes with a right-hander, that’ll be another boon for the Giants.
Cubs ML vs. Dodgers
This is one we may have to sweat, but the Cubs have a lot going for them tonight against the Dodgers. Chicago has LHP Matthew Boyd (6-1) on the mound with a 3.41 ERA and 1.20 WHIP across 12 games this year, while the opposing lineup is worse against lefties than righties with a .741 OPS that is admittedly still quite good. While Los Angeles LHP Justin Wrobleski (11-2) has an even better 2.88 ERA and 1.02 WHIP, the Cubbies are one of the best teams in the MLB when it comes to hitting southpaws – they boast a staggering .263/.353/.429 slash line for a .782 OPS with a .166 ISO. Wrobleski comes off one of his worst games of the year after giving up five earned runs in his last start, and while he looked good through six shutout innings against this same Cubs team earlier in the year, he may not have as much success tonight. He gives up some hard-hit balls and Chicago has an absurd .343 BABIP since the break, so I like the underdog here.
Rays ML at Rockies
Tampa Bay is super chalky tonight and there may be some variance at Coors Field, but the visitors should pop in terms of offense. The Rays slash .262/.335/.416 with a .750 OPS against right-handed pitching and now get to take on the Rockies – who send out RHP Michael Lorenzen (3-9). The veteran has thrown 23 games with a 6.54 ERA and a 1.81 WHIP with a Savant page so blue it would make the Smurfs blush. In home games, he carries an absurd 8.34 ERA and a 2.05 WHIP, so you can do the math on how this may work out. Opposing hitters who may see time in the Rays’ lineup tonight are also 13-for-43 (.302) against him with a 1.096 OPS. I feel good taking them for an outright win to round out this parlay.
