The reigning back-to-back World Series champs have joined forces with the reigning back-to-back American League Cy Young winner.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired superstar southpaw Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
The Dodgers send outfielder Zyhir Hope (No. 5 prospect), right-handed pitcher River Ryan (No. 7), and right-hander Brady Smith (No. 17) to Detroit in exchange for the prized starter.
Skubal arrives in Los Angeles with a 2.79 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP and 116 strikeouts across 16 starts (96.2 IP) for the Tigers in 2026. He bolsters an already loaded rotation that, when fully healthy, features Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shohei Ohtani, Blake Snell, and Tyler Glasnow.
The Dodgers hold a 10-game cushion in the National League West with a 69-42 record, second-best in baseball behind the Milwaukee Brewers (68-41). Unsurprisingly, they’re the World Series favorites with +145 odds of completing the three-peat on DraftKings Sportsbook.
