Who Replaced Tony Romo in the CBS Booth This Season?

After his arrest in Wisconsin for OWI, Tony Romo has been placed on leave by CBS.

The NFL season is just a a few weeks away, and it’s unclear if Romo will get his job back or face any further disciplinary action. However, in the meantime, CBS has announced that J.J. Watt will be stepping into the booth with Jim Nantz.

The announcement of Watt as Romo’s replacement indicates that Romo could still be on leave by the time the NFL season starts. Last season, Watt worked alongside Ian Eagle in the No. 2 booth for CBS. So, if Romo is going to miss part of the season, Watt will simply bump up to that No. 1 booth and someone else will have to step in alongside Eagle. If Romo ends up being dismissed from CBS, there is a chance CBS could also look outside of the current lineup to find a new analyst to work alongside Jim Nantz in the No. 1 booth.
