Love Island UK Season 13 has officially wrapped up. Lorenzo Alessi and Julia Majchrzak were named the winners of the latest season of the show. Here is a look at where they stack up to the other winners in the history of the show. This ranking does not include couples from All-Stars or any other Love Island franchises.
1. Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu and Davide Sanclimenti (Season 8)
There is no more iconic winning couple in Love Island history than Ekin-Su and Davide. Ekin-Su is one of the funniest personalities to ever appear on the show. Davide ended up being the perfect foil to Ekin-Su, and that propelled them to winning their season of the show. The duo even got their own spin-off series following their win on Love Island. Unfortunately, they didn’t last too long after that. However, Ekin-Su crawling on the floor of the terrace, Davide calling her a “liar” and an “actress,” and the hilarious dynamic between the two will live on in Love Island history.
2. Liam Reardon and Millie Court (Season 7)
The hilarious dynamic of Ekin-Su and Davide in Season 8 was preceded by the genuinely lovely couple of Liam and Millie in Season 7. Liam and Millie clicked from the start and instantly became one of the most beloved couples on the show. While they hit some speed bumps due to Liam’s actions in Casa Amor, the duo worked through those issues and pushed on strong to the end. They stayed together for a while after the show, broke up for a period and then got back together, even launching a podcast together. However, as of 2026, they have split up once again.
3. Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey (Season 2)
It’s only fair to put Cara and Nathan this high on the list, as they gave a lot of legitimacy to the Love Island experiment. Cara and Nathan not only stayed together after winning the show, but ended up getting married and having children. While everything that happens in Season 2 might not look great through a 2026 lens, the fact that the second couple to ever win the show ended up in a long-lasting marriage gave hope that real love could be found on the show.
4. Lorenzo Alessi and Julia Majchrzak (Season 13)
It might be recency bias, but Season 13 winners Lorenzo and Julia round out my Mount Rushmore of Love Island winners. Lorenzo was the fan-favorite boy on the season from Day 1, but it seemed like he would never allow himself to open up and actually find love. That is until he walked into Casa Amor and saw Julia. They instantly connected and had a dynamic that rivaled Ekin-Su and Davide in terms of on-screen comedy. Julia made plenty of enemies in the villa because of her opinions, but it made for some of the best television the show has produced in a long time.
5. Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan (Season 9)
Kai and Sanam are considered by some to be the most “boring” couple to ever win the show. They were on an incredibly hectic season of Love Island, where couples were constantly fighting between each other and with other islanders. Meanwhile, Kai and Sanam seemingly found real love and stayed out of all of the inter-villa clashes. The love ended up being very genuine, as they became the second-ever couple to win Love Island and end up getting married. The two are still married today.
6. Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer (Season 4)
Jack and Dani were one of the first couples to catch real lightning in a bottle and turn their stardom on the show into a career as public figures in the real world. Of course, some of that can be attributed to Dani Dyer’s famous father, but the public also loved these two together. While they didn’t last on the outside, they were very easy to root for during their time in the villa. Dani is now married to West Ham star Jarrod Bowen.
7. Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea (Season 5)
Season 5 is considered by many to be the best ever season of the show. It is certainly my personal favorite. However, when it comes to this list, it is much further down the rankings. That is because, in hindsight, the wrong winners were chosen. Amber had a rough go of things in the villa and the public was ecstatic to see Greg come in as the final bombshell and treat Amber the way she deserved to be treated. They are still a very likable couple and would have been worthy winners on most seasons.
However, arguably the most prominent couple in Love Island history came out of this season, Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury. These two are arguably the greatest couple in the history of the show, both in terms of their fairy tale on-screen romance and the fact that they are now married with children. However, the Amber hype towards the end of the show saw Molly-Mae and Tommy finish as runners-up instead.
8. Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies (Season 3)
As individuals, Kem and Amber were very entertaining to watch. However, it was clear to anyone watching that they would not last as a couple in real life. They were constantly clashing and broke up multiple times throughout the season. The real romance of this season was between Kem and his best friend Chris.
9. Paige Turley and Finn Tapp (Season 6)
Paige and Finn were a solid winning couple. They were both likable islanders and, despite some ups-and-downs, seemed to have a great connection. However, there are no really memorable moments or captivating storylines to put them any higher on this list.
10. Toni Laites and Cach Mercer (Season 12)
Season 12 was another very unique season in terms of who ended up winning. Toni and Cach are nowhere near the strongest couples to ever win the show. However, they are in the Amber and Greg camp of winning because people were so happy to see the girl they loved get treated well at long last. The trio of Toni, Shakira and Yasmin were the real winners of the show, with the best friends all getting hired as panelists on Aftersun following their season of the show.
11. Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan (Season 11)
Mimii and Josh are another couple in the long line of “Amber and Greg winners.” Mimii was a beloved islander, but had been dumped by Ayo earlier in the season to much of the public’s disgust. That is why when Josh came in and gave her what she was looking for, the public was happy to vote them as winners in what was a relatively weak season of the show.
12. Sammy Root and Jess Harding (Season 10)
Season 10 of Love Island had a lot of polarizing figures. Whitney, Tyrique and the duo of Sammy and Jess had big fan bases, but also swaths of viewers that did not like them. Heading into the final, it was hard to know who would end up winning. Sammy and Jess had been together for a while, but had been on a rollercoaster of breaking up and getting back together constantly. It was clear that Sammy didn’t really like her and Jess was fed up, but they ultimately squeaked out the win against a questionable group of finalists.
13. Jessica Hayes and Max Morley (Season 1)
The first season of Love Island was a bit of a mess. The islanders weren’t quite sure how to operate, and it was much more akin to a season of Jersey Shore than what you would see on Love Island Season 13. The most interesting couple was Jon and Hannah. To this day, Jon is the only person to propose on Love Island, getting down on one knee for Hannah during the live final. However, they only ended up staying together for a few months after the show.
Despite the proposal, it’s Jess and Max that ended up winning the first season. Max came in very late in the season and coupled up with Jess after she had a rough go of things over the first few weeks. That set the precedent for the “Greg and Amber winners” of the future. Unfortunately, this duo was not iconic enough to get something named after them in Love Island lore. However, they will always be the first-ever winners of the show.
