House of the Dragon Season 3 is approaching its penultimate episode, meaning the current arcs are about to reach their peaks. The Game of Thrones spinoff has leaned heavily on its grand scale in the past, unlike A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and we could be on the verge of yet another monumental battle. Season 3 Episode 7 will premiere on HBO at 9 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 2. It will be available to stream on HBO Max at the same time. The episode is expected to have a runtime around 1 hour, but its title remains unknown.
Like Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and most other major HBO titles, House of the Dragon is releasing one episode a week – all on Sunday nights. There will be eight episodes in Season 3, as there were in Season 2. After that, HBO has greenlit a fourth and final season with a scheduled release date of 2028.

What to expect in House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 7
Alicent is off to Harrenhal, where she has been tasked with killing Aemond. Based on the Episode 7 preview, we know that Alicent will reach her destination and come face-to-face with her son. However, Alys seems to know the queen mother is up to something, plus she already has her hooks in Aemond. Alicent might also find out that Criston Cole is dead, since the Butcher’s Ball took place on her path to Harrenhal.
Rhaenyra now knows that Helaena is a dreamer, which isn’t something she is going to just ignore. Whether her half-sister tells her a prophecy or drives her crazy by staying silent, Rhaenyra is only going to get more paranoid. She has already pricked her finger on the Iron Throne, which was the beginning of the end for her father decades earlier. With Daemon acting out, the Gold Cloaks dwindling and Ormund teasing her from Tumbleton, it’s only a matter of time before Rhaenyra makes a decisive move. The Rivermen and Winter Wolves are marching on Tumbleton with no one left in their path, to say nothing of the dragons that could play a part in the upcoming conflict.
As for Aegon, Larys and Tyland, their current plan is to head off to Essos until the civil war blows over. But since word is out there that Tyland survived and went off to Rook’s Rest, they could run into trouble before they are able to secure a ship east. Jon Roxton just ambushed Corlys and his Velaryon men in the Crownlands, so there are plenty of players lingering in the Crownlands. Baela and Addam – not the brother she shared a kiss with, Alyn – are still looking for Vhagar, but they could run into Sheepstealer instead if Rhaena isn’t careful.
