The PGA TOUR heads to the Motor City for the Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club (par 70, 7,328 yards, bentgrass/Poa annua greens). This is the final edition of this event and Aldrich Potgieter (-22) is the defending champion after winning a three-man playoff last year. There will be 144 players competing with a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds this week.

Below, I have featured my two favorite bets for the Rocket Classic on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Rickie Fowler for a top-20 finish including ties (+168)

Fowler has been successful at Detroit Golf Club in the past and his game is trending up just in time for his return to the Donald Ross creation. Fowler’s last PGA TOUR win came at Detroit Golf Club in 2023 and he finished T12th at this venue in 2020.

Fowler has shot as low as a 64 at Detroit Golf Club in the past and he is coming off two strong performances, finishing T15th at the John Deere Classic and T17th at the Open Championship.

Fowler gained strokes on approach and with his putter at both these tournaments, and he closed out the Open Championship with a 5-under 65 at Royal Birkdale, which was one shot shy of the lowest number for the final round.

Fowler should carry this momentum over to Detroit Golf Club and finish inside the top-20, which is something he has accomplished in 9-of-18 starts this season.

Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen for a top-20 finish including ties (+280)

Neergaard-Petersen has come alive recently. Only once in the Dane’s last nine starts has he missed the cut, and he has produced four top-20 finishes over this time, including two in a row entering this week.

After finishing T9th at the Open Championship, Neergaard-Petersen finished T20th in his 3M Open debut last week. Outside of a 1-over 72 in the second round, Neergaard-Petersen shot a 5-under 66 in his other three rounds at TPC Twin Cites.

Neegaard-Petersen ranked fourth in SG OTT at the Open Championship and he led the field in the metric at the 3M Open. The 27-year-old ranks 18th in SG OTT this season and his elite driving skills make him a great match for Detroit Golf Club.

Two of the last four winners here have finished the event top-seven in SG OTT. Just like when we saw him thrive in his first attempt at TPC Twin Cites last week, Neergaard-Petersen should have a strong debut at Detroit Golf Club.
