San Francisco Giants vs. Milwaukee Brewers prediction, pick for MLB on Monday 7/27/26

Milwaukee opens a six-game California trip with the National League’s best record at 66-39. The Brewers have won seven of 10 and finished a 7-2 homestand by crushing Colorado 11-2. Their 535 runs rank fifth despite an offense sitting 29th with 98 homers. Milwaukee has built elite production through traffic, doubles, speed, and lineups that rarely give away an inning. The Brewers have also hit .261 across their last 10. San Francisco enters 44-61 after missing a chance to sweep the Angels. The Giants have hit .221 during that stretch, own 17 one-run losses, and sit 1-49 when trailing after seven innings. Below is my preview, prediction, and pick for today’s baseball game between the San Francisco Giants and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Giants vs. Brewers prediction, preview

Brandon Sproat enters 3-5 with a 5.09 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, 91 strikeouts, and 43 walks. His 5.03 FIP supports the run prevention problems. Opponents have produced a .337 expected wOBA, 89.9 mph average exit velocity, 42.9% hard-hit rate, and 35.2% sweet-spot rate. Sproat has also surrendered 16 homers, with four walks shortening his latest start before the fifth inning ended. The raw arsenal remains powerful. His four-seamer and sinker sit between 95 and 97 mph, with the fastball reaching 99.2. A mid-80s sweeper produces roughly 17 inches of horizontal movement. He also carries a cutter, curveball, and changeup.

Sproat’s six-pitch depth gives him several ways to escape trouble once he reaches two strikes. His command frequently prevents those plate appearances from reaching a favorable count. San Francisco can force him into the stretch by refusing sweepers below the zone and sinkers off the plate. Tyler Mahle faces a different problem. He owns a 2-9 record, 5.31 ERA, 77 strikeouts, 33 walks, 4.52 FIP, and 4.29 expected ERA. His .319 expected wOBA offers some encouragement beside a .345 actual mark. Mahle has allowed a 89.6 mph exit velocity, 35.9% hard-hit rate, and 7.3% barrels. Three of his last four starts ended after five innings or fewer with at least three earned runs allowed.

Milwaukee’s current lineup can attack Mahle without relying on Oracle Park to carry fly balls. Joey Ortiz has slashed .345/.424/.759 across his last 10 with two doubles, two triples, two homers, six RBIs, and three steals. Cooper Pratt owns a .385 average, .654 slugging percentage, two homers, and six RBIs during the same window. His last 15 games have produced a .380/.411/.600 line, 19 hits, and 11 RBIs. Brice Turang has reached base at a .395 clip. Christian Yelich has collected five doubles, one triple, and one homer. Andrew Vaughn has slugged .565, Jeferson Quero has lengthened the order, and Jackson Chourio has scored nine times.

Brewers vs. Giants pick, best bet

San Francisco’s best offensive path begins with Sproat creating his own traffic. Luis Arraez owns a .327 season average and 129 hits, giving the Giants an elite first-pitch contact bat. His recent .270/.300/.324 line has supplied limited extra-base impact. Willy Adames has carried the power with three homers, nine RBIs, and a .553 slugging percentage across his last 10. Rafael Devers has also homered three times with eight RBIs and a .500 slugging percentage. Jung Hoo Lee owns a .265/.324/.441 recent line, while Bryce Eldridge has walked eight times and homered twice. Matt Chapman’s leg issue and Harrison Bader’s plantar injury reduce San Francisco’s available depth around that group.

The bullpen and park complete Milwaukee’s case. Brewers relievers own a 3.43 ERA, led by Abner Uribe’s 2.38, Trevor Megill’s 2.97, and Aaron Ashby’s 31.3% strikeout rate. San Francisco carries a 4.37 bullpen ERA with fewer dependable late-game combinations. Oracle Park should sit near 67 degrees with 11 mph wind and heavy evening humidity. Those conditions can keep Sproat’s mistakes inside the yard. Milwaukee can still create separation through doubles, steals, and repeated contact against Mahle. I’ll play the Brewers -1.5 at +119, with +105 as my floor. Sproat’s command creates the danger. Milwaukee’s deeper lineup and stronger bullpen support a 6-3 victory.

Best bet: Brewers -1.5 (+119)

Projected score: Brewers 6, Giants 3

Best bet: Brewers -1.5 (+120) at Giants
