After a stop in the Twin Cities, the PGA TOUR is headed to Detroit for the Rocket Classic, which is the second-to-last tournament before the FedExCup Playoffs. The Rocket Classic has been held at the Detroit Golf Club since 2019, when it became a regular stop on the PGA TOUR. This will be the final Rocket Classic, after Rocket announced it will not be sponsoring the tournament following the 2026 event. It’s unknown at this point if the PGA TOUR will be back in the Motor City next year or not as the schedule continues to shift and prepare for the major changes coming in 2028.
Last year, Aldrich Potgieter defeated Max Greyserman and Chris Kirk in a playoff to claim his first PGA TOUR victory. Previous winners include fan favorites Bryson DeChambeau, Rickie Fowler and Tony Finau along with Cameron Davis (twice). The tournament is another key event as players on the bubble look to move into the top 70 over the next two weeks to get into the playoffs. After the Rocket Classic, the Wyndham Championship is the last chance players have to play their way into the postseason.
