From bona fide stars to stealthy value plays, let’s take a look at three must-starts for Sunday afternoon.

SP Jacob Misiorowski, Milwaukee Brewers vs. Colorado Rockies ($11,300)
I mean, this one feels self-explanatory.
On one hand, we’ve got the consensus National League Cy Young frontrunner, Jacob Misiorowski. Only 24, Milwaukee’s flamethrowing right-hander holds a commanding lead in virtually every statistical category: ERA (1.57), xERA (2.02), WHIP (0.77), FIP (2.05), K/9 (13.54), you name it. While expensive, Misiorowski’s statistical counterparts over the last 50 years include the likes of Greg Maddux and Dwight Gooden — in other words, worth it.
And then we’ve got the Colorado Rockies. MLB’s perennial punching bag is back at it in 2026, saddled with the worst record in the National League (42–63) and an offense only formidable at an altitude. The Rockies enter Sunday’s series finale against the Brewers ranking 27th in wRC+, 28th in xwOBA, and 10th in strikeout rate.
At Coors Field on June 6, Misiorowski went seven innings without allowing an earned run while piling up eight strikeouts in a 7–1 rout.
1B Freddie Freeman, Los Angeles Dodgers at New York Mets ($5,700)
Sunday’s series finale between the Dodgers and the Mets will likely feature some “Freddie on Freddy” crime.
Freddie Freeman refuses to age. At 36, the superstar first baseman is hitting .299 with an .868 OPS and 15 home runs for the defending champs. He’s been especially tough on right-handed pitching, boasting a .935 OPS with 11 homers against them. Freeman is riding a five-game hitting streak, punctuated by three-straight, three-hit performances — two of which have come against the Mets. There’s a strong chance he keeps the momentum rolling Sunday afternoon against the beleaguered Freddy Peralta.
Peralta has been the antithesis of what the Mets thought they were trading for over the offseason. Since moving to New York, the former Brewers’ ace has posted a swollen 5.01 ERA across 21 starts, the second-highest mark among qualified pitchers. Last month, Peralta coughed up 10 earned runs in just 2.2 innings against a mediocre Phillies lineup. In his latest outing, he got tagged for seven earned runs over 5.1 frames against his former team.
The former World Series MVP hasn’t had the most success against Peralta, going just 6-for-29 (.207) in past meetings. Granted, three of those hits were for extra bases, including a home run. And given their recent forms, Freeman heads into their latest clash with a clear upper hand.
OF Garrett Mitchell, Milwaukee Brewers vs. Colorado Rockies ($3,800)
I typically try to spread my picks across three different teams, but Garrett Mitchell’s upside is impossible to ignore at this price — and in this matchup.
The Brewers outfielder, 27, is constantly crushing the seams out of baseballs. With one of the quickest swings in the majors, he ranks in MLB’s top 15 percent or better in average exit velocity (92.6 mph), barrel rate (13.8 percent), and hard-hit rate (48.9 percent). While his strikeout numbers are, to put it bluntly, atrocious, Mitchell is dangerous when he’s in the zone. And that’s exactly where we find him heading into Sunday’s series finale against the Rockies.
Mitchell owns an exceptional .945 OPS with a pair of home runs, eight doubles, a triple, and 10 RBIs since the beginning of July. He’s even excelling in same-side pitching matchups, posting an OPS north of 1.000 in 21 plate appearances against lefties in that span. Mitchell seems poised to bolster those numbers against Colorado’s Kyle Freeland, who enters with an unsightly 7.28 ERA — worst in the sport (min. 50 IP). The struggling southpaw sits in the bottom ten percent of MLB hurlers in xERA (5.62), xBA (.294), and average exit velocity (90.8 mph).
