The 29-year-old enters with a 3-4 record, a 5.48 ERA, a 1.42 WHIP, with 14 home runs allowed, and 50 strikeouts across his 65.2 innings pitched. He is coming off his most concerning start of the season, as Feltner was chased after just 2.1 innings by the Red after allowing three homers and eight earned runs. He has fared well in this matchup in the past. Across 81 at-bats against this Brewers’ lineup, Feltner has limited them to slash lines of .173/.230/.235 with a .464 OPS.
Looking at their production at the plate, the Rockies rank fourth in MLB in hits, seventh in runs scored, 18th in home runs, and ninth in strikeouts. Hunter Goodman leads the team with 31 home runs and 58 RBIs. Mickey Moniak adds 16 home runs and 43 RBIs of his own, while TJ Rumfield and Jake McCarthy have also cracked 10+ home runs and 53+ RBIs apiece. Troy Johnson, Willi Castro, Kyle Karros, and Ezequiel Tovar also play important roles.
The Milwaukee Brewers enter at 64-39 on the season, which slots them in first place in the National League Central and trails only the Dodgers for the best record in MLB. Milwaukee is looking to bounce back from a 5-2 loss to the Rockies on Friday, but is 5-2 since the All-Star break. Robert Gasser will take the mound for Milwaukee Saturday night. While he has pitched in a limited capacity across the past three seasons, Gasser has yet to face the Rockies in his career.

Rockies at Brewers pick, best bet
There is a sizable gap in talent between these two teams, and the Brewers have started to find their stride as the season has progressed. Expect them to be eager to bounce back from the 5-2 loss on Friday. My lean is toward Milwaukee covering the 1.5-run line. However, my best bet for this matchup is for the game total to go over the nine-run line.
Both these pitchers have struggled to limit runs this season. Gasser enters with a 4.91 ERA and has allowed 11 home runs in 10 games this season. He has only escaped one matchup without allowing a run this season and has given up as many as seven earned runs in just three innings of work. He has a 5.48 ERA across his past four starts entering Saturday.
Feltner has also been vulnerable on the mound this season, with a 5.48 ERA overall and 14 home runs allowed in 14 starts. He has allowed 14 earned runs and 19 hits across his past 12.2 innings pitched and has especially struggled on the road. While Feltner has had success against the Rockies in the past, he is posting a 5.32 ERA on the road, with opponents hitting .281.
Both these teams rank in the top seven in runs scored this season and will be eager to capitalize on this favorable matchup. Expect each starting pitcher to keep the door open for runs and for the nine-run total to be too low a bar to clear. Neither pitcher has consistently produced at a high level, and it feels in play for either offense to explode for more than nine runs on their own. Buckle up for some runs in this matchup and back the game total to soar over.
