BREAK IT DOWN:
(Stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)
Yordan Alvarez 1+ Home Run (+195)
Alvarez smashed three homers in his three-game series this week against the Marlins and is up to 34 homers on the year, the most of any player in the MLB after he passed Kyle Schwarber this week. Alvarez and the Astros are on the road this weekend in the Windy City, taking on the White Sox. He has a tougher matchup against Davis Martin on Friday, but even though Martin has been solid overall this season, the public likes Yordan to air it out in Chicago. In his last nine games, Alvarez is 17-for-33 (.515) with four doubles, five homers, a 51.7% hard-hit rate, and a 24.1% barrel rate. He’s red-hot and leads the league in homers, so it makes sense that the public is behind him again on Friday.
Shohei Ohtani 1+ Home Run (+270)
Ohtani and the Dodgers are in the Big Apple for a second straight weekend with another stop in Philly in between series against the Yankees and the Mets. Ohtani hasn’t gone yard since before the All-Star break, going 4-for-25 (.160) with a double. He still has a 68.4% hard-hit rate, though, and always has the potential to go yard. It’s a good spot to get him at value with his odds over +250. He’ll be taking on lefty Sean Manaea, and even though it’s a lefty vs. lefty matchup, Ohtani still brings enough upside to be a solid option in this spot. The wind will be blowing out to left at Citi Field and temperatures are forecast to be in the mid-70s, so it’s a good spot for Ohtani to get back on a home run roll in this series opener.
Junior Caminero 1+ Home Run (+316)
The Rays opened the second half with back-to-back four-game road series against the Red Sox and Blue Jays. They took three of four in Toronto, and now they’ll come home to take on the Guardians and lefty Joey Cantillo. Caminero went 12-for-32 (.375) on the trip with a .419 wOBA and a 48.1% hard-hit rate. He’s up to 29 homers on the season and will look to connect on No. 30 on Friday night. Of his 29 homers, 17 have been at home at Tropicana Field, where he has a .335 ISO and .440 wOBA. He has also put up good numbers against lefties with a .263 ISO and .445 wOBA on that side of his splits. Cantillo has done a good job this season, allowing only 12 homers in 21 starts, but it’s still a good spot to play Caminero coming home, especially with such favorable odds.
3-Pick Same Game Parlay
Taking three of the most-bet player props individually is always an option, but why not roll them into a same-game parlay (SGP) and get in on all the action at once? It’s a fun way to tie everything together — feel free to tag along.
