A 30-team, 17-game slate makes up Wednesday’s MLB action. For those looking to cash in quickly on a bet, nothing makes more sense than an NRFI. With that being said, there’s more to this one than meets the eye. Some pitchers thrive early, while others take more time to get settled in than others. Which NRFI picks are worth a closer look on Wednesday?
Ahead of today’s Major League Baseball contests, here are two NRFI bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Twins vs. Guardians NRFI (-115)
In an AL Central matchup with some serious stakes, Bailey Ober will get the nod for Minnesota. Through 77.0 innings of work (14 starts), he’s notched a 4.32 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 58 strikeouts (6.8 K/9). Those aren’t amazing numbers, but the big righty is no stranger to this matchup. Over his previous seven appearances vs. Cleveland, Ober has posted a 3.49 ERA. It helps that the Guardians are helpless at the plate, scoring the second-fewest runs per game in baseball (4.02). The team also ranks just 24th in YRFI rate (24.51%). Ober has recorded a solid 78.6% NRFI rate this season.
On the other side, it’ll be Slade Cecconi on the bump for the Guardians. Much like Ober, he’s a decent, albeit unspectacular, innings eater. Over 99.0 frames (19 starts), he’s delivered a 4.55 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 77 strikeouts (7.0 K/9). Throughout his four-year MLB career, the veteran has been effective in the first inning (81.4% NRFI). Now, Cecconi faces a somewhat underrated Twins lineup this evening. However, Minnesota comes into this one in the midst of a slump. The squad has scored 34 runs over its previous ten contests, the third-worst mark in baseball during that stretch.
Rays vs. Blue Jays NRFI (-115)
In a battle of the bullpens, Griffin Jax will take the mound first for Tampa Bay. Granted, it’s not fair to call the 31-year-old a reliever at this point. He’s made 15 starts (75.0 innings) this season, producing a 4.08 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 77 strikeouts (9.2 K/9). Even more impressive, the right-hander has delivered a stellar 80.0% NRFI rate. He’s poised for even more success this evening against one of the sport’s worst lineups. The Blue Jays are averaging a league-worst 3.96 runs per game this season. To boot, Toronto is tied for the second-lowest YRFI rate (22.77%). Nothing is guaranteed, but this is an ideal spot for Jax tonight.
It’ll be Braydon Fisher making his seventh start of the season for Toronto on Wednesday. The reliever has gone through an up and down 2026 campaign. However, he’s posted a respectable 3.65 ERA and 1.18 WHIP through 49.1 innings pitched. To boot, he has yet to allow a first inning run in any of his six previous starts. The Rays are no slouches at the plate, prioritizing a contact-heavy approach that can frustrate opposing arms. With that being said, the team is just 15th in OPS against right-handed pitchers on the road (.719). Tampa Bay also has a below average 28.0% YRFI rate away from home. That alone is enough reason to believe Fisher can navigate the first inning unscathed.
