This week, we head to TPC Twin Cities (par 71, 7,431 yards) in Blaine, Minnesota, for the 3M Open. This is a full-field event with a standard 36-hole cut. It is a relatively weak field, full of players trying to sneak into that top 70 to make the FedEx Cup playoffs. The one exception is the World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who is still trying to find his putting stroke ahead of the playoffs. The defending champion is Kurt Kitayama.

Emiliano Grillo (+10000)
Emiliano Grillo was having a tough season, but he has started to find his form as of late. Grillo only made five cuts in his first 12 tournaments this year. However, that bad run did include an excellent T7 finish at the Valspar. Since missing the cut at the PGA Championship, Grillo has now made five consecutive cuts heading into this week. That run of solid play includes a T20 at the Canadian Open and a T23 at the U.S. Open. Grillo was T6 heading into Sunday at the U.S. Open before sputtering out in the final round.
The main reason for backing Grillo is his course history at TPC Twin Cities. In six career starts at the 3M Open, Grillo has finished inside the top 25 five times, the top 10 three times and the top five twice. That includes a runner-up finish to Tony Finau in 2022. Grillo ranks 12th on the PGA TOUR in driving accuracy, which should help him avoid any of the water hazards that can derail an entire tournament at this course. The rest of his game is trending in the right direction as well. At 100/1, it’s worth a shot on a player who has performed so well here in the past.
Zac Blair (+11000)
Zac Blair is playing excellent golf at the moment. Blair has been a long-time grinder on the PGA TOUR, Korn Ferry Tour and other tours to make a living playing golf. At 35 years old, he has been around the block a time or two, but has found something in his game the past few weeks. It started with a strong showing at Shinnecock Hills. Blair ultimately finished T32 at the U.S. Open, but he was in the mix at T22 heading into the weekend.
Since then, Blair has performed brilliantly at back-to-back events with weaker fields. He finished T9 at the John Deere Classic and T8 at the ISCO Championship. Blair has a career-best T13 finish at the 3M Open in 2023 and could use his momentum to perform even better this time around. Blair is still seeking his first career win on the PGA TOUR, and this could be his big chance.
