Major championship season might’ve just ended on the PGA TOUR, but that doesn’t mean the big tournaments are over. The FedEx Cup Playoffs will start in just three weeks, and there are plenty of big names tuning up for the Playoffs with this weekend’s 3M Open, including World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. TPC Twin Cities, a 7,513-yard, par-72 course in Blaine, Minn., will play host to this weekend’s tournament.
144 players will tee off on Thursday and Friday, but only the top 65 and ties will make the cut, which could be critical for getting into the 70-player field for the first FedEx Cup Playoffs event. Several accomplished players like Tony Finau are currently outside the top 70, so it’ll be important for him to put together a good tournament if he wants to extend his season.
While at least 65 players will ultimately play the weekend, I’ve taken my best bet at parlaying three.
3M Open Cut Parlay
- Takumi Kanaya to make the cut (-125)
- Mark Hubbard to make the cut (-102)
- Hayden Springer to make the cut (+110)
Takumi Kanaya to make the cut
Kanaya hasn’t quite seen as much success on the PGA TOUR as he enjoyed in Japan, but he had a tremendous 3M Open debut in 2025, finishing in a tie for seventh after firing a 64 on Friday and a 65 on Saturday. Kanaya has made the cut more often than not this season, qualifying for the weekend in 12 of his 18 tournaments, and though he’s coming off of a missed cut last weekend in the Dominican Republic, he’d just finished in a tie for 15th at the ISCO Championship the weekend before. By the PGA TOUR’s Course Fit metric, the 28-year-old ranks sixth, in large part because he ranks 14th on TOUR in Total Putting and above-average in scrambling, and TPC Twin Cities tends to favor short game maestros. Bunker play is especially pivotal, and Kanaya ranks 52nd in sand save percentage, a nearly top-quartile figure.
Mark Hubbard to make the cut
Hubbard had a disastrous start to his season, missing the cut in five of his first nine events, but since then, he’s turned it around, making five of his last seven, including a second-place finish at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic in May. While he’s coming off of a missed cut at the Genesis Scottish Open two weeks ago, he finished in a tie for 46th at the John Deere Classic on a far more similar course to TPC Twin Cities than the Renaissance Club. Hubbard ranks 53rd by Course Fit, as he’s combined an above-average short game with solid approach play, especially from 175 yards and out. Like Kanaya, Hubbard has also been pretty good out of the bunkers. He’s made the cut in two of his prior three starts at the 3M Open.
Hayden Springer to make the cut
Springer has had an inconsistent season, but he’s made five of his nine cuts, including a tie for 24th at the Corales Puntacana Championship last weekend, and like Hubbard, he played the weekend at the John Deere Classic. Springer ranks 11th by the Course Fit metric, as while he hasn’t played enough to qualify for leaderboards this season, he ranked 33rd in putting average in 2025. He was also excellent at hitting approach shots out of the rough, which is critical because missing the fairway is relatively penal for the average TOUR pro at TPC Twin Cities. The Tennessee native missed the cut at this tournament last year, but he finished in a tie for 59th in 2024 after firing a first-round 66.
