With the four majors behind us, we head to TPC Twin Cities (par 71, 7,431 yards, bentgrass greens) in Blaine, Minnesota, for the 3M Open. The course has been the home of this tournament since its addition to the annual PGA TOUR schedule in 2019.
Kurt Kitayama (-23) is the defending champion after winning last year’s tournament by a single stroke. The 3M Open is hosting 144 players — including Scottie Scheffler for the first time — and there will be a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.
TPC Twin Cities is a unique parkland course designed by Arnold Palmer. This is a long venue with wide fairways, large greens, 72 bunkers, and water in play on 15 holes. With 27 water hazards, TPC Twin Cities annually sees the most water balls of any course on the PGA TOUR — and staying dry is a key to winning here. This is a very scoreable track if you can avoid the water, and we have seen both short and long hitters succeed at TPC Twin Cities. Like most susceptible courses, performing well with both your irons and putter is essential at TPC Twin Cities. Each of the last four winners at this track has finished the event top-eight in SG APP, and three of the last five 3M Open champions have finished the tournament top-eight in SG.
As a traditional par 71 with 11 par fours, scoring on the par fours is most important at TPC Twin Cities. Kitayama led his field in par-four scoring by three strokes during his 3M Open win last season. Four of the last five victors at TPC Twin Cities have finished the event top-three in par-four performance.

Casey Jarvis ($7,300) – If unfamiliar with Jarvis, he is a 22-year-old out of South Africa who has been making a name for himself this year. Jarvis won on the Magical Kenya Open on the DP World Tour and the Investec South African Open on the Sunshine Tour in back-to-back starts from February to March. That latter win earned him a spot at the Open Championship this past week. In his debut at the major, Jarvis turned heads with a T6 finish at Royal Birkdale, including a 4-under 66 in the final round.
This impressive Open Championship debut comes after Jarvis finished T38 at the BMW International Open and T21 at the Genesis Scottish Open the previous two weeks. Jarvis moved up to a career-best No. 63 in the world golf rankings with his T6 at Royal Birkdale, and the elite putter should thrive in his first attempt at TPC Twin Cities. On the DP World Tour this season, Jarvis ranks third in stroke average and fifth in putts per green in regulation.
A.J. Ewart ($7,100) – Ewart should have a strong 3M Open debut and is a terrific bargain at this cheap salary. The Canadian has made 14-of-18 cuts this season, including six in a row entering this week. Ewart has finished inside the top-30 four times during that stretch, most recently with a T20 at the Corales Puntacana Championship this past week.
Ewart’s irons have been great recently, gaining strokes on approach in five consecutive starts. The 27-year-old has also gained strokes with his putter in two of his last three outings. Ewart is a strong fit for TPC Twin Cities, and a top-25 finish is within reach for him this week.
Aaron Wise ($6,600) – Wise missed the cut in his only start at the 3M Open in 2020, and he has only made 3-of-9 cuts this season. While both are concerning, the former PGA TOUR winner has really found something in his game recently and is a terrific GPP play at only $6,600. After opening his season with six straight missed cuts, Wise has finished T39 at the John Deere Classic, T3 at the ISCO Championship, and T15 at the Corales Puntacana Championship.
During this run, Wise has gained strokes on approach and with his putter at every event. He has also shot under par in all but one of his 12 rounds — including six rounds of 66 or lower.
