At tonight’s Matchroom Boxing event, 2020 Olympic Gold Medalist Andy Cruz is back and looking to bounce back after suffering his first career loss in January. Cruz is facing Abraham Montoya on this card, which is headlined by Diego Pacheco vs. Immanuwel Aleem.
Check out my best bet below for Andy Cruz vs. Abraham Montoya.
Andy Cruz by KO/TKO/DQ (-180)
Since beginning his professional boxing career in 2023, Andy Cruz has quickly made an impact in the sport. He started 5-0 with three knockouts and then suffered a majority decision loss to Raymond Muratalla in January. Cruz’s last victory was a fifth-round knockout over Hironori Mishiro in June 2025. Montoya is 24-7-1 in his career and has gone 2-2 in his previous four contests. Also, Montoya is 5-5 in his last 10 contests as he has struggled against elite competition.
In this contest, Andy Cruz is a -3500 favorite with Montoya being the underdog at +1100 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The over/under is 8.5 rounds, with the over being +100 and the under being -135. Cruz is also -180 to score a knockout and +150 to win by decision.
Since Cruz is such a big favorite, let’s look at a different way to back the Olympic Gold Medalist. Two of Cruz’s last three and three of his previous five wins have come by knockout. With Cruz coming off his first professional loss, it is likely that he will come out extra aggressive in this contest, looking for a finish. That is why I’m taking Cruz at -180 to win by KO/TKO/DQ against Montoya.
