I’m sure there’s a good reason why the Mets and the Phillies will kick-off the second-half of the MLB’s regular season tonight with an island game at Citzens Bank Park, I’m just not privy to it.
No matter. I don’t need to know why they’re playing. I need to know what I’m betting.
Here are a couple of my top prop bets to consider on the DraftKings Sportsbook.
Either Batter Home Runs: Kyle Schwarber or Bryce Harper (-117)
A prop for the bettor that simply can not make up their mind. Do I want chocolate? Or do I want vanilla? How about I point you towards a swirl cone, good patron.
Home runs were not an issue for Christian Scott early in the season. In fact, Scott only surrendered one long ball in his first eight starts of 2026. However, recent outings have not been as pretty. The RHP has surrendered six long balls in his past 18.0 innings of work, with all six hit by an LHB. For those keeping track at home, that’s a whopping 4.63 home runs per nine within the split in that span of time. Lefties have a .681 slugging percentage in that stretch, as well.
Unfortunately for Scott, he’ll see two of the National League’s best LHBs on Thursday. Heck, both Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper just competed in the Home Run Derby. This is their cup of tea. Harper sports a 97th percentile expected wOBA (.391) this season, while Schwarber leads the league in long balls (32). Odds are very good that one of these two men goes yard.
Christian Scott 6+ Strikeouts (-101)
Scott’s struck out 10.8 opponents per nine innings this season. Though, that number is slightly undercut by an inflated 11.2% walk rate, which obviously drives up the right-hander’s pitch count and forces him to exit games early. Even with that said, Scott’s hit or exceeded this prop in three of his past four starts, including a six strikeout effort against these same Phillies back on June 27.
Philadelphia’s lineup is full of swing and miss. For 2026 as a whole, the Phillies rank top five in the sport in both chase rate (35.7%) and swinging strike rate (11.7%). Specific to this month, not much has changed, as the club’s 24.5% strikeout rate is the eighth-highest mark in MLB.
If Scott can pitch five frames, I feel like there’s almost no chance he doesn’t cash this prop.
