The All-Star break is behind us, and the stretch run of the MLB season is in front of us. There are many award races to settle, and the NL Cy Young field is among the most stacked in the league. Let’s dig into the current odds for the potential winners.

Jacob Misiorowski leads the field comfortably, to the surprise of nobody. The 24-year-old leads MLB in ERA, FIP, WHIP, strikeouts, ERA+, and strikeout-to-walk ratio. An all-time season is in the works for the hardest-throwing starting pitcher in the big leagues. The 2025 Cy Young runner-up, Cristopher Sánchez, is once again on track to finish second. The Phillies ace has been all-around dominant once again, holding a 2.62 ERA with 144 strikeouts in 127.1 innings.
From there, we get into the real long shots. Chris Sale and Zack Wheeler, two elite veteran hurlers, are tied at +2200. Chase Burns, another youngster, is in the mix with a 2.54 ERA and 11-1 win-loss record. Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the third-place finisher in the 2025 race, is putting in another elite season for Los Angeles. Behind him is reigning Cy Young winner Paul Skenes; a couple of rough early starts inflated his ERA to 3.57, and he has a tough road ahead to whittle it down. Rounding out the top eight is MVP shoo-in Shohei Ohtani; the only thing stopping Ohtani and his 1.74 ERA from being an inner-circle candidate is the lack of innings pitched.
There are stars all around in this field, from the veterans polishing their resumes to youngsters bursting on the scene and everything in between. It’s going to be an electric race to the finish. Will anyone be able to unseat the Miz, or will he roll to his first-ever Cy Young Award?
