The 2026 Home Run Derby is ready to take center stage this Monday, with eight sluggers taking aim at the fences at Citizens Bank Park. Along with plenty of attention and options on the actual outcome of the event, DraftKings Sportsbook has some fun specialty markets in play, including one for the player who will hit the longest homer of the night.
While players who advance farther in the new format will get more chances and more swings to hit the longest homer of the Derby, the winner of the event may or may not end up with the longest shot of the night. Junior Caminero (+300)
The longest home run of the season so far was a 473-foot blast by Drake Baldwin. He isn’t in the field, though, and Junior Caminero is the favorite in this specialty market. Even with the shortest odds on the board, he brings solid value at 3:1, which shows how unpredictable and volatile this part of the contest is expected to be.
Caminero’s longest homer of the season was a 463-foot homer on June 28 against the Diamondbacks. It’s tied for the fifth-longest of the year:
Caminero made a long run to the finals last year in the Home Run Derby, finishing second behind Cal Raleigh. He hit a 475-foot homer in the first round and a 469-foot shot in the Finals.
He returns to the event with some impressive momentum. He has 13 homers in his last 19 games and is up to 28 homers on the season. While home run derby success is sometimes unrelated to regular-season numbers, his success in this contest and ability to hit balls a long way make him a good play at 3:1 to hit the longest home run of the night.
Jordan Walker (+400)
Walker has had a breakout season so far for the Cardinals, crushing 22 homers in 93 games after hitting just 11 homers in 162 games across the last two seasons. Walker’s longest blast was this no-doubt grand slam against the Tigers:
Walker’s home run production slowed a little after an early-season flurry, but he has found his power stroke again recently, smashing four homers in his last 12 contests. He’s new to the contest, so he’s a little unknown but brings nice value at 4:1 with the potential to get an off-the-radar contender in this prop.
Willson Contreras (+1500)
An even deeper sleeper in this prop is Willson Contreras, who has just 20 homers on the season with the Red Sox, tied for the second-fewest in the competition, but does have a tendency to smash his home runs plenty far enough and brings a fiery disposition that could help him go off if he gets rolling.
Contreras’ longest of the year was also in Detroit, when he took Framber Valdez yard in May.
Contreras is in the midst of serving his suspension from a confrontation with the Nationals a few weeks ago, but he’ll participate in the festivities this weekend. He has been very public about competing and playing hard for his native Venezuela, and this could be another great chance for him to put that narrative in the spotlight. He has sneaky potential to make a deep run and a great right-handed power swing that should play well at Citizens Bank Park.
He has Home Run Derby experience from competitions in Venezuela, but this will be his first MLB Home Run Derby.
