Best bets for the 2026 Home Run Derby

Best bets for the 2026 Home Run Derby

The Home Run Derby strips baseball down to what chicks dig the most. Eight hitters, one friendly arm each, one hot summer night in Philadelphia, and a stadium waiting for the first ball that makes everyone rise before it lands.

The 2026 board has plenty of theater without needing to overcomplicate it. Kyle Schwarber gets the home-park stage and the cleanest left-handed pull fit in the field. Bryce Harper gives Citizens Bank Park another chance to lose its mind. Junior Caminero returns after last year’s runner-up finish with easy, violent carry. Munetaka Murakami brings the mystery and the moonshot upside. Jac Caglianone, Jordan Walker, Ben Rice, and Willson Contreras give the field enough raw force to keep every round popping.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Best bet: parlay Kyle Schwarber / Junior Caminero to make semifinals (+140)

This is good chalk, and the Derby is allowed to have good chalk. Tonight is built for moonshots, bad intentions, and high-arcing baseballs disappearing into the hot Philadelphia night. This parlay keeps the bet simple. Schwarber and Caminero only have to finish top four in Round 1, with every hitter getting 20 swings.

Schwarber is the cleanest fit in the building. He has 32 homers, 122 career shots at Citizens Bank Park, and a swing made for this stage. The shape is almost too perfect: 93.4 mph average exit velocity, 53.1% hard-hit rate, 19.4% barrel rate, 40.1% sweet-spot rate, 72.5% air-ball rate, 34.3% fly-ball rate, and a 54.1% pull rate. Among the left-handed pull bats here, he is the one actually pulling the ball over half the time. In that park, on that night, that is the whole sermon.

Caminero is the other favorite worth trusting because he has already worn this event well. He hit 21 in Round 1 last year, 44 on the night, and averaged 442 feet on those first-round homers. He also reached 117 mph off the bat, then came back this season with 93.2 mph average EV, 116.9 mph max EV, 51.8% hard-hit rate, 13.6% barrel rate, and 79.9 mph bat speed.

Murakami, Harper, Rice, Walker, and Caglianone all carry danger. That is the good fun. Still, Schwarber has the park-and-swing fit. Caminero has the fresh Derby proof. At plus money, this is the best bet on the board.
