With nearly two months of new episodes in the bank, Rick and Morty Season 9 is officially winding down. There are only three weeks left until Adult Swim’s biggest animated hit goes back on hiatus, although fans can certainly tolerate its year-long breaks over the fate that Smiling Friends met earlier this year.

When does Rick and Morty Season 9 Episode 8 come out?
Rick and Morty Season 9 Episode 8 will premiere on Adult Swim at 11 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 12. The episode, which is titled Rickuiem Mort a Dream, will have a runtime around 22 minutes. It will be available to stream on HBO Max and Hulu, but not until Monday, August 3. Episodes are hitting streaming on a three-week delay, so Episode 4 will be the one arriving on HBO Max and Hulu on Monday, July 13.
As was the case with the past seven seasons, Season 9 will be 10 episodes long. It will run through the finale on Sunday, July 26.

Who will show up this episode?
Rick and Morty has had a pretty stable cast over the years, barring Adult Swim cutting ties with co-creator and lead voice actor Justin Roiland in 2023. The two titular roles are now filled by separate people, as they were in Seasons 7 and 8. Here is a look at the recurring cast, as well as who they are playing:

David’s President Curtis has his own spinoff show premiering in July, though, so he may not show up in the mainline series this season. Ed Helms, Rob Riggle, Keegan-Michael Key, Tilda Swinton, Owen Wilson, Ty Burrell and Justin Long are among the many celebrities who have cameoed this season, but their appearances were likely one-offs.
What to expect in Rick and Morty Season 9 Episode 8
The past few episodes have been focused on pretty black and white dichotomies, like the war between a head and a body and how peace and violence are balanced in the circle of life.
Based on the lookahead to Season 9 Episode 8, we could be in for another Rick and Morty breakup storyline of sorts. We have already gotten several different looks at that relationship this season, from Rick cheating on Morty by going on adventures with his evil alternate self to Morty discovering his friend was a robot that Rick built as dual-factor authenticator for his computer. This time around, Rick tells Morty that he has never been happy when Morty has been around, which could lead to some kind of alternate reality where they don’t interact with each other.
