BREAK IT DOWN:
(Stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)
Yordan Alvarez 1+ Home Run (+240)
Yordan Alvarez has been stuck on 29 homers since last Saturday, when he smashed two long balls against the Rays. The public thinks the Astros’ lefty gets to the big 3-0 on Friday night against the Rangers in Arlington. Alvarez will be taking on veteran righty Cal Quantrill, who has allowed five homers in his 40.1 innings this season. Lefties like Alvarez have two of those homers, and three have come against him at Globe Life Park, where he’s saddled with a 4.66 ERA. Alvarez is 1-for-7 against Quantrill in their past meetings, but that one hit left the yard. Even after a quiet showing against the Nationals, Alvarez is hitting .325 with nine bombs in 33 games since June 1 — posting a 16% barrel rate over that span.
Junior Caminero 1+ Home Run (+265)
Junior Caminero has been one of the few hitters hotter than Alvarez. The 23-year-old righty has been warming up for the home run derby with 14 homers in his 35 games since June 1. He homered in Thursday’s series finale against the Yankees, and he has a 57% hard-hit rate and 15% barrel rate during that span. Caminero is up to 27 homers on the season, and 16 of them have come at Tropicana Field — where he has a .312 batting average and .324 ISO on the year. Even though he’s a righty, his best numbers have been against right-handed pitchers, including 22 bombs. He’ll be matched up against veteran righty Luis Castillo to start the game on Friday. Even though he’s done a good job keeping the ball in the yard this year, Caminero has shown the ability to take anyone deep. The public is backing him to add another homer to his impressive run this Friday.
Munetaka Murakami 1+ Home Run (+296)
The general public is also hyped to get Munetaka Murakami back on the board this Friday. Murakami has been sidelined since May 29 with a Grade 2 hamstring strain, but he’s expected to return for Friday’s series opener against the A’s. Murakami will likely face lefty Jacob Lopez for his first at-bat, possibly two. Still, then he’ll have a much more favorable matchup against Aaron Civale, who is expected to work as the bulk reliever. Lefties have hit 11 of the 16 home runs off Civale this season, and Murakami went 2-for-3 against him in their matchup earlier this season. Before the injury, Murakami got off to a fast start with 20 homers in his first 42 games. He went 2-for-7 with a double in his two rehab games and will look to go yard again on Friday in his return.
3-Pick Same Game Parlay
Taking three of the most-bet player props individually is always an option, but why not roll them into a same-game parlay (SGP) and get in on all the action at once? It’s a fun way to tie everything together — feel free to tag along.
