For the first time in five years, MMA icon Conor McGregor will “Billi Strut” to the Octagon on Saturday night — running it back with fan-favorite Max Holloway in a welterweight clash at UFC 329 in Las Vegas.
“The Notorious” has been shelved since suffering a freak leg injury during his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier — and at 37, he’s attempting to stage one of the most improbable comebacks in sports history. He’ll have his hands full against Holloway, one of the most active and battle-tested competitors on the active roster.
Holloway enters as a heavy -225 moneyline favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook. McGregor is a +185 underdog, with the fight total set at O/U 2.5 rounds.
Let’s dive into the betting splits for Saturday night’s main event.
Betting Splits
Unsurprisingly, McGregor has controlled much of the betting action, capturing 64 percent of total bets and a whopping 91 percent of the handle. That latter mark is tied with Paddy Pimblett for the highest on the UFC 329 main card. Topping the full card is Elisha Ellison, who has garnered 99 percent of the handle as a +1200 underdog against highly-touted debuting prospect Gable Steveson. Holloway, meanwhile, has fetched 36 percent of wagers and nine percent of the handle.
A lot has changed since their first encounter, when McGregor bested Holloway via unanimous decision amid their respective rises back in 2013.
The brash, Irish knockout artist (22–6, 10–4 UFC) went on to become the promotion’s first double champ and the most influential figure in MMA history. However, he’ll now have to shake off five years of ring rust after suffering one of the most devastating injuries the Octagon has ever seen. Still, McGregor will have at least one advantage in that the bout is taking place at welterweight, where he’s 2–1 in his career with wins over Nate Diaz and Donald Cerrone. Saturday night will be his opponent’s first bout at 170 pounds after spending the bulk of his career at 145.
Holloway (27–9, 23–9 UFC) holds the edge in several other aspects. The high-octane Hawaiian has fought eight times in McGregor’s absence, highlighted by a buzzer-beater knockout against Justin Gaethje at UFC 300. His latest win came in July 2025, when he spoiled Poirier’s retirement bout. Despite coming off a unanimous decision loss to Charles Olivera in March, Holloway enters Saturday night as one of the most polished boxers in the sport’s history.
As for the finish, Holloway holds -125 odds to win by knockout, while a McGregor KO is priced at +250.
