What happened to Kylian Mbappé? Live injury updates for France vs. Morocco on 7/9/26

UPDATE: Mbappé was seen with ice on his ankle on the bench.

In the 75th minute of Thursday’s FIFA World Cup quarter-final against Morocco, Kylian Mbappé sat on the turf and asked for the training staff to come on the field. He was then substituted for Jean-Philippe Mateta and was able to walk off the field. It looked to be an issue with his right foot.

Before exiting, Mbappé scored the first goal of the game and assisted the second to Ousmane Dembélé as the French built a 2-0 lead.
