Season 8 of Love Island USA draws to a close on Sunday night, officially marking the end of summer for those of us who’d rather stay cooped up watching strangers lounge by a pool than actually go outside and do it ourselves — myself included.
With another vote set to determine which couples make it through, the remaining six couples will soon be narrowed down to a final four before one pair is crowned the winner in Sunday’s season finale. But until then, there’s still plenty of drama to speculate on.
As we round the final corner and head toward the finish line, here are my predictions for how the rest of Love Island USA Season 8 will shake out.
Love Island USA Power Rankings
A Fiery Family Day
During their intimate stay in the Hideaway, Melanie told Sincere that her mom would not be mad at him after everything he’s put her daughter through. Well, we’re about to find out.
Thursday’s episode will feature Love Island USA’s highly anticipated Family Day, where remaining islanders get a chance to reconnect with their loved ones inside the villa before the finale. Notably, Melanie’s family was not shown during the episode’s sneak peek.
The exclusion could mean nothing — the preview was barely 10 seconds long — and I may be reading too far into it. But something’s telling me that Melanie’s family isn’t too pleased with how she’s been manipulated for six weeks straight, and that the producers might be saving a must-see confrontation with Sincere for Thursday night.
A Core Four Absence in the Final Four
I’m sure you’ve heard by now of the “Core Four.” The fan-favorite group of Trinity, Kayda, Melanie, and Aniya has won over audiences with its unshakable bond between standout personalities — inspiring massive voter turnout week after week.
But with six remaining couples fighting over four finale spots, there’s a chance that at least one of the Core Four pairings doesn’t make it to Sunday.
Of the remaining duos, it seems most likely that KC and TiTi reach the final four over Kenzie and Dylan. The former shockingly survived last week’s vote and just went steady as boyfriend and girlfriend, while the latter has been in limbo since Movie Night. Should KC and TiTi advance, my best guess is that Kayda and Zach — who were recently on the chopping block and haven’t been able to define their relationship — fall by the wayside. That, or voters finally wake up and save Melanie from Sincere.
And the Winner is…
Of course, there’s really only one question on the minds of viewers: who will be crowned the king and queen of Love Island USA Season 8 and take home the $100,000?
Although the winner comes down to a public vote, it’s hard to ignore the storybook script surrounding Trinity and Bryce. Coupled up on Day 1, they briefly swayed toward the first batch of bombshells before returning to each other — and never looking back, each test bringing them closer together. Accelerating their slow burn, Trinity and Bryce survived the temptations of Casa Amor before returning from this season’s first official date as boyfriend and girlfriend.
It wouldn’t shock me if KC and TiTi pulled off an underdog victory, but it feels all the more likely that Trinity and Bryce are deemed the winners of Season 8. Time will tell if they can stay together longer than last year’s winners, Amaya and Bryan, who called it quits just two days after the Season 7 reunion dropped on Peacock.
