It’s time for the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals, and for Kylian MbappĂ© to write another chapter in his incredible World Cup story. Already the all-time leading scorer for France at the Cup, and second all-time behind Lionel Messi, MbappĂ© creates history every time he steps on the pitch. What history is in store for us on Thursday against Morocco?

France currently sits as a -390 favorite to advance on DraftKings Sportsbook. Morocco is the underdog at +295. Les Bleus have -180 odds to win in regulation, with Morocco at +550, and +290 odds that the two squads are level after 90 minutes. Let’s get into the best Kylian MbappĂ© prop bet for this match.

Best Kylian Mbappé Prop Bet

First things first, let’s get an overview of MbappĂ©’s prop lines for this match.

He has the shortest odds for scoring at least one goal in the game, -130 with extra time included and -115 in 90 minutes. Mbappé is also the leader to score the first goal in the match at +290, something he has done in four of France’s five matches in this World Cup. He’s at +450 to score a pair of goals and +2200 to get a hat trick. His lowest available shots-on-target lines (including extra time) are 2-plus at -250, 3-plus at +140, and 4-plus at +400. The lowest line for Mbappé’s total shot attempts is 3-plus (-2000), followed by 4-plus (-350), 5-plus (-135), and 6-plus (+165). For assists, 1-plus assist is at +295, with a pair of assists at +2500. Not the most defensively inclined striker, Mbappé to record 1-plus tackle is at +100, easily the worst odds on the board.

Scouring for value on such a popular player is difficult. But here, it’s important to consider the opponent. Morocco has been nails when it comes to defending strikers in this World Cup; no opposing No. 9 has found the back of the net through five games. However, they have been scored on twice by wingers and once by attacking midfielders. Fortunately for the French, they have the best winger duo in the tournament in Ousmane DembĂ©lĂ© and Bradley Barcola, with DĂ©sirĂ© DouĂ© and Rayan Cherki off the bench. Michael Olise has yet to score in this tournament, but is arguably the best pure No. 10 in the game today.

Here’s where Mbappé’s passing will be crucial. While we always laud his goalscoring, Mbappé’s ability to connect the field with his passes is underrated. Achraf Hakimi and Noussair Mazraoui, Morocco’s starting wide backs, aren’t known for their defensive excellence. They also rely on youngster Ayyoub Bouaddi as a defensive midfielder. That’s good news for the goalscoring potential of Dembélé, Barcola, and Olise. And I like the chances of Mbappé getting the assist on one of those goals.

Best Bet: Kylian Mbappé 1+ Assists (+295)
