While there aren’t as many afternoon games this Wednesday as in recent weeks, a few early starts in the evening leave eight games on the main DFS fantasy baseball slate, which begins at 7:10 p.m. ET. While there are a few stud pitchers to consider building around, there are also a few smash spots for hitters, presenting plenty of different options to assemble a solid roster. Let’s dive in and examine the 16 teams in the player pool to identify some solid MLB DFS picks for Wednesday night’s slate.
Overall, the weather looks to be relatively clear, but there could be some showers in Minnesota or Cincinnati, but it doesn’t look like much that would cause a postponement. The wind will be blowing out at Dodger Stadium in one of the late games and at Citi Field in one of the early games, setting up potentially favorable home run spots. Kyle Harrison, Milwaukee Brewers at St. Louis Cardinals, $9,500 — The Brewers have taken the first three games of their rare five-game series in St. Louis after sweeping a doubleheader from the Cards on Tuesday. They’ll give the ball to Harrison on Wednesday night, looking to make it four in a row over St. Louis. Harrison has been outstanding overall this season for the Brew Crew, but he has looked slightly more hittable lately and only earned 2.4 FPTS in his last start, when he left after just 2 2/3 innings against the D-backs.
Before that short outing, Harrison had posted 19+ FPTS in seven of his previous eight starts, including one against the Cardinals, when he went six shutout innings and earned 19.1 FPTS. On the season, Harrison has impressed with a 2.82 ERA and 3.01 FIP while racking up 99 strikeouts in 79 2/3 innings. He’s had his best outings at home, but he still brings a very high ceiling as he looks to go into the All-Star break with a strong showing against his division rivals.

Jake Bennett, Boston Red Sox at Chicago White Sox, $7,700 — Harrison’s former team, the Red Sox, are in Chicago taking on the White Sox this week, and on Wednesday, they’ll give the ball to another big lefty. Jake Bennett hasn’t been as dominant as Harrison but has been very effective since joining the rotation in mid-June after a few spot starts in early May.
Bennett has 19+ FPTS in three straight games, with his best performance coming on the road at Coors Field, where he earned 29.1 FPTS in six shutout innings with a season-high nine strikeouts. He beat the Yankees in Boston to earn 19.2 FPTS in his next outing, and in his most recent start, he earned 26.2 FPTS against the Angels last Friday. In his last four starts, he has a 1.78 ERA and 0.67 WHIP, and he has 23 strikeouts in 25 1/3 innings over that stretch. While the White Sox offense has been solid this season, they are definitely lefty-heavy, which sets up well for Bennett, who has held lefties to a .167 average with a .163 wOBA this season.

1B/3B Sal Stewart, Cincinnati Reds vs. Philadelphia Phillies, $4,800 — Great American Ball Park is almost always a good spot to shop for offense, and even without a lot of wind, the temps in the 80s should make it a good spot for Stewart against Phillies starter Max Lazar ($4,000), who will open for a bullpen game. Stewart has had a strong rookie season so far, with 17 homers, 11 stolen bases and a .346 wOBA through his 90 games. Over his last 12 games, he is 15-for-50 (.300) with five doubles, three homers and a .392 wOBA while averaging 9.3 FPTS per game. After hitting safely in six of his last seven, Stewart can be a solid anchor at either corner infield spot in your MLB DFS Picks today.

2B Anthony Seigler, Boston Red Sox at Chicago White Sox, $2,900 — Seigler was one of the pieces the Red Sox got in exchange for Harrison in the offseason. He, Andruw Monasterio ($2,300) and Caleb Durbin ($3,100) each have contributed to the Sox’ recent surge, so it looks like the trade may end up being a win-win for both teams. Seigler has been hitting leadoff against righties lately and has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games, going 15-for-50 (.300) with five doubles, a homer, two stolen bases and an average of 9.0 FPTS per game. If he’s in the leadoff spot on Wednesday against Davis Martin ($8,500), he’ll have a good ceiling for a value play under $3,000.
OUTFIELD

OF Juan Soto, New York Mets vs. Kansas City Royals, $6,000 — Soto hit his 20th homer of the season on Tuesday night, and he has reached that total in just 73 games. He is hitting .299 on the season and has hit .333 over his last 17 games with five of those 20 homers and a .481 wOBA. Soto is hitting an impressive .355 with a .476 wOBA in his home games this season and averaging 11.0 FPTS per game at home. He has 14+ FPTS in four of his last five games and will look to stay hot against a bullpen game from the Royals, who plan on using Steven Cruz ($4,000) as an opener and Randy Dobnak ($4,000) as the bulk reliever. Both are righties and will be solid matchups for Soto to smash.

Luis Lara, Milwaukee Brewers at St. Louis Cardinals, $2,000 — At the minimum salary, Lara is a great way to still get good upside while making a minimal investment. Lara was called up for his MLB debut on Tuesday and went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a walk for 11 FPTS. MLB Pipeline ranked Lara as the No. 4 prospect in the Brewers’ deep farm system and the No. 67 prospect in all of baseball. The team gave the 21-year-old a seven-year extension last month and is ready to add him to the outfield mix. He hit .321 with nine homers and 24 stolen bases in 78 games at Triple-A this season, and that is already the most home runs he has had in any of his seasons as a pro. While the power may be fluky, his speed has shown elite potential over the last few years, with 45 stolen bases in 2024 and 44 stolen bases last year. He brings a high ceiling since he’ll be in a good lineup against Michael McGreevy ($7,400) on Wednesday, and he could be the latest impressive fantasy option to emerge for Milwaukee’s player development program.
