Best Bet for Switzerland vs. Colombia
- Colombia Moneyline: Colombia were many people’s dark horse going into this tournament, and they’re living up to expectations. They finished third in South American qualifying, scoring the second most goals. They’ve won three of their four games in the World Cup, drawing the other against Portugal when they only needed a point to finish top of the group. This is a team that might not go all the way, but I think they’re better than Switzerland. The Colombian fans have made every game feel like a home game for them, and I expect this to be a hostile crowd as well for the Swiss.

Switzerland vs. Colombia Prediction, Pick
Switzerland is currently ranked 15th in the FIFA rankings, while Colombia sits at 11th in the world.
Every game for Colombia in this tournament has essentially been a home game, as yellow shirts have filled up the majority of all their matches. That’s a huge advantage in this one against a Swiss team that won’t be even close to as well represented in the stands. Colombia has also been dominating on the pitch. They won their first two group games against Uzbekistan and DR Congo before drawing against Portugal in the final match when they just needed a point to finish on top of the group. Even though they didn’t necessarily need a win against Portugal, Colombia were the better team in that match and were unlucky not to win it. They then beat Ghana 1-0 in the Round of 32 in a game where they looked comfortable throughout, even if the scoreboard was close.
The Swiss started this tournament with a blip, drawing against Qatar. They responded well against Bosnia and Canada, winning both games. In the Round of 32 they beat Algeria 3-0 without breaking a sweat to set up this matchup. Make no mistake, the Swiss are no scrubs, but Colombia presents a level of difficulty that they haven’t seen so far in this tournament. The same can’t be said for Colombia, who have already gone toe-to-toe with Portugal, one of the favorites to win it all. Colombia are more battle tested, will have the home crowd advantage, and have the better quality players, especially Bayern Munich’s Luis Diaz. Colombia might not make it much further than this, but I think they should win this one and make it to the quarter-finals.
