For the eighth straight season, the Genesis Scottish Open will be played at the Renaissance Club (par 70, 7,282 yards, fescue greens) in North Berwick, Scotland. For the fifth year in a row, this tournament will be co-sanctioned between the PGA TOUR and the DP World Tour. There will be 156 golfers competing, and a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds. At last year’s Genesis Scottish Open, Chris Gotterup (-15) won by two strokes.

Robert MacIntyre ($9,000)
Hailing from Scotland, MacIntyre always gears up for the Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club, which is about three hours from where he grew up in Oban. After finishing runner-up at the Renaissance Club in 2023, MacIntyre won at this par 70 in 2024. The Scot has made 6-of-8 cuts and finished inside the top-20 four times at the Renaissance Club. MacIntyre’s lowest number here is a 7-under 63 two years ago, and he ranks 10th in this field in strokes gained per round at the Renaissance Club.
This season, MacIntyre has made 13-of-16 cuts, and he has finished inside the top-25 seven times, including a fourth-place finish at THE PLAYERS Championship and a runner-up at the Valero Texas Open. Also, MacIntyre finished T10th at the Travelers Championship two weeks ago in his last start.
MacIntyre gained strokes on approach and with his putter at TPC River Highlands, and he shot a 5-under 65 in both the second and final rounds. MacIntyre ranked sixth among the world-class field in GIR, and he has a great chance to contend at the Renaissance Club in this form.
Kurt Kitayama ($8,400)
Kitayama is playing terrific golf right now, making nine consecutive cuts and producing six top-25 finishes during this cut streak. The two-time PGA TOUR winner most recently finished T25th at the Travelers Championship two weeks ago and, per usual, Kitayama excelled as a ball striker, ranking fourth in SG APP at the Signature Event.
Kitayama ranks fourth in SG APP for the season, and he also ranks seventh in proximity to the hole on 175-200-yard approach shots. This is notable for this week, as 25.4% of the approach shots at the Renaissance Club the last five years have come from this distance.
Kitayama has made 4-of-5 cuts at this venue, and he nearly won at the Renaissance Club in 2022, finishing runner-up by one shot. Another high finish at this par 70 is possible for Kitayama this week, and he could get lost in the shuffle with many big names in the $8,000 range.
Matt Wallace ($7,300)
Wallace has made 5-of-7 cuts at the Renaissance Club with three of these finishes being top-30 results. The Englishman has four rounds of 66 or lower at this par 70, and he is a five-time winner on the DP World Tour, so Wallace is very comfortable competing overseas.
As for his current form, Wallace’s game is trending up, as he has only missed two cuts in his last 12 starts. Wallace finished runner-up at the Valero Texas Open in April, and he is coming off a T33rd finish at the John Deere Classic last week.
While not the greatest finish at first glance, Wallace concluded this event with a 6-under 65 at TPC Deere Run, and he gained strokes on approach and with his putter. Wallace gained a season-best 1.56 strokes on approach, which ranked third at the John Deere Classic. If Wallace can in any way replicate this ball striking performance at the Renaissance Club, he will flourish at this track that favors strong iron players. Three of the last four winners at the Renaissance Club have finished the event top-eight in SG APP.
