Who Died In The From Season 4 Finale?

Two notable characters died in Season 4 Episode 10 of From:

• Marielle Sinclair (Kaelen Ohm) – The Smiling Creature (Jamie McGuire) killed her when confronting Fatima, whom he referred to as “mother.” 
• Elgin Williams (Nathan D. Simmons) – Sofia (aka Man in the Yellow Suit) tried to get Elgin to go the same route as Clara. Put in a lose-lose situation, Elgin took the righteous path, though he paid the ultimate price for it.

Jim Matthews was also dead at the start of the season, meeting his end in Season 3’s finale. There was also a background character (Roger, played by Eugene Sampang) who died during Season 4 — the only noteworthy thing about that death, though, was that this character came back to life as a monster that was akin to the water scarecrows.

What Happened To Fatima In The From Season 4 Finale?

The most fascinating character development in all of Season 4 was Fatima Hassan (Pegah Ghafoori) turning into one of the creatures who come out at night.

She’d been going through a lot mentally after giving (re)birth to the Smiling Creature, but that eventually was accompanied by a physical toll later in Season 4. Following Season 4’s penultimate episode, it appeared one of two things was happening to Fatima: She was either dying or turning into a creature of some sort. The exact type of creature was unclear, though it did very much seem like she was specifically turning into one of the creatures who comes out at night — which was proven to be the case in the From Season 4 Finale.

After failing to save Marielle from the Smiling Creature, Fatima saved Tabitha, Boyd, Jade and Ellis in the tunnels from the creatures, taking the monstrous form of one herself.

Her efforts were not in vain, and it does not appear as though she died. However, she left her husband and father-in-law with the line, “Remember who I was” before confronting the monsters in the tunnel, which is where we last saw her.

Now the question becomes: Will Fatima continue to be an ally for the townsfolk or will she also transform into one of those monsters in mind, not just body?

Everything You Need To Know Before From Season 5

We’ve hit on the key death and the major development with Fatima, but there’s still far more to discuss as we start prepping for Season 5 of From:

• Jade and Fatima have the bones. More importantly, a conversation between the Boy in White and Sophia/Main in the Yellow Suit fully confirmed for viewers that the bones are unequivocally part of the solution.
• Speaking of that conversation between the Boy in White and Sophia/Main in the Yellow Suit, the final minute of From Season 4 revealed a lot. These two appear to be opposites. Sophia/Main in the Yellow Suit has spoken of this whole thing as a game of sorts before, and the Boy in White said, “You’re gonna lose this time,” furthering that rhetoric. Last but not least, if the red lighting and momentary complete loss of light in the middle of the day didn’t make it clear, then Sophia/Man in the Yellow Suit solidified that the townsfolk should not have pulled out the Bottle Tree.
• Throughout the entirety of the episode, Sophia/Man in the Yellow Suit was picking up the talismans across town (with help from Clara). In the final moments of Season 4, Sophia/Man in the Yellow Suit dumped all the talismans down a faraway tree.
• Jade and Tabitha survived, but barely. The stress led to some emotions, especially when they found the remains of their long-dead daughter from their first life together. Jade was also prepared to sacrifice himself in order to get the bones and Tabitha out of the tunnels safely.
• Henry almost killed Victor. If not for an unintentional intervention from Ethan, which almost led to his own death, Victor would have surely died. Instead, he disarmed his father and ended the threat.
• Speaking of the Matthews, Julie and Ethan think their mom is dead. Ethan is, rightfully, a mess. Julie seems lost. She’s given up on her storywalking for now, but we know she has to do it at least once more thanks to Season 3’s finale, where she showed up before Jim’s death.
• Kristi is a mess, having arrived in her fiance’s dying moments.
• Both Kenny and Donna had relatively quiet endings to Season 4 — both certainly had their moments in From’s penultimate season, though. Randall was part of the whole ordeal at the Bottle Tree, but he also had one of the quieter experiences in this episode.
• Clara appears to be fully in Sophia/Main in the Yellow Suit’s pocket. No one in the town knows this.
• Ellis is likely to turn into a mess next season now that Fatima has turned into a creature.
• Boyd continues to hang by a thread. Having somehow survived another wild season, it feels like our main character is likely to have as tough a time as he’s ever had in the show’s final season — especially with Ellis in position to have a breakdown.
