Monday’s episode of Love Island USA picked up after Megan Thee Stallion revealed that, thanks to a public vote, Amora and Carl were returning to the villa. The first date of Season 8 was 24 episodes in the making, and it was certainly worth the wait. Soundtracked by Olivia Dean’s “So Easy,” Trinity and Bryce departed on a jet ski for a romantic champagne toast on a sailboat. There, they skipped the trademarked Love Island step of “closing off” and jumped straight into becoming boyfriend and girlfriend.
They weren’t the only couple to close things off. Back at the villa, Parmida and Corbin confirmed they were also done exploring other connections.
Unfortunately, Corbin’s next conversation — an apology to Kenzie for his Casa comments — didn’t yield nearly as positive a result. Kenzie insisted that he’s been too “lustful,” though the episode concluded later that night with her locking lips with Gal. That’s her seventh explored connection of the season, for those who are keeping count.
With the entire villa watching, KC pulled Aniya for arguably the most anticipated conversation of the season. It produced mixed results. At the firepit, the scene of the crime, Aniya explained her side while KC owned up to his own wrongdoings — albeit without a hint of earnestness. The chat ended with them amicably deciding it was best to go their separate ways.
The Summer of Insincere continues. Amora barely had time to put her bag down before Tierra pulled her aside and offered a warning: this is not the same Sincere that they knew in Casa Amor. After treating the weekend getaway like a “hall pass,” both Amora and an emotionally shelled Melanie are keeping a watchful eye on the master manipulator.
Likewise, Carl has also adopted a more cautious approach upon his return to the villa. Chatting with Aniya in Soul Ties, he admitted that, while he wants to continue exploring their connection, his “walls are up” after getting dumped during the Casa recoupling.
Oh, I almost forgot. Gal and Jen aren’t really clicking and are seemingly headed in different directions.
