Yordan Alvarez 1+ Home Run (+200): Alvarez goes head-to-head with another popular slugger as Byron Buxton and the Twins are in town to start the week. Alvarez has a favorable matchup against Zebby Matthews in the first game of the series. Matthews has given up 10 homers in eight starts, including seven in his four road starts, resulting in a 7.33 road ERA. Lefties have hit six of those 10 homers and Alvarez will be looking to continue those splits this Monday. Air Yordan hasn’t homered since last Sunday and only has one dinger in his last 14 games. He has a 15% barrel rate during that stretch, though, so he’s still hitting the ball hard, even though it hasn’t left the yard quite as often. The public likes his bounce-back potential against Matthews at Daikin Park on Monday night.
Kyle Schwarber 1+ Home Run (+189): Schwarber is another popular play as he and the Phillies face the Pirates in an all-Pennsylvania matchup. Schwarber hit his league-leading 30th homer of the season on Sunday and has a .256 average to go with his .336 ISO, .408 wOBA and 20.6% barrel rate this season. On Monday, he’ll take on Braxton Ashcraft at Citizens Bank Park. Ashcraft has allowed only eight homers in his 16 starts but six of them have been to lefties. Schwarber is 2-for-3 against Ashcraft in the past, including a home run. He has seven homers in his last 16 games with a 65.7% hard-hit rate. He has hit 20 of his 30 homers against righties and 19 of his 30 homers at home, so facing Ashcraft at the Bank puts him on the strong side of each of those splits.
Pete Crow-Armstrong 1+ Home Run (+266): PCA gets the third and final spot in the most bet props for this Monday as he and the Cubs take on the Padres, who will likely start Griffin Canning (although not officially announced). Canning has allowed eight homers in his 10 games while going 1-5 with a 7.38 ERA. Lefties like PCA have hit all eight of the homers against him and have a 1.007 OPS against him. Crow-Armstrong had a down weekend against the Brewers, going 0-for-10 but drawing three walks. He has six homers over his last 14 contests, with a 62.9% hard-hit rate and 11.4% barrel rate over that span. He’s always a controversial figure, but the public likes his chances of going deep against Canning to start his series in San Diego.
