Boston Red Sox Team Total Over 4.5 Runs

Odds: -120 | Opponent: Washington Nationals

Miles Mikolas draws the start for the Nationals against the Red Sox. He’s been wildly inconsistent this season and sports an overall 5.24 ERA with a 4.73 xERA and a 5.31 FIP. Most of his recent appearances have come as a bulk reliever and he has found some success. However, when he starts, as he will tonight, he owns a 8.28 ERA with a .372 wOBA and a 6.72 FIP. I’m hoping we see more of that tonight in this start in Washington DC. The Red Sox are shockingly coming off a four-game sweep of the Yankees, where they averaged 5.2 runs in those games. The offense is clicking right now and I’m hoping they’ll carry that over to tonight. Once Mikolas departs, he’ll give way to a Nationals bullpen who over the last week combined for a 5.29 ERA with an xERA of 5.02 and a 1.4 HR/9.

Pete Crow-Armstrong 3+ Total Bases

Odds: +133 | Opponent: San Diego Padres

After riding a 14-game hitting streak, PCA went 0-for-14 during the weekend series against the Brewers. Some will say he’s cooled off, I say he’s just getting started (at least for tonight). Hitting conditions at Wrigley Field couldn’t be better, as it’ll be a hot and humid night with winds blowing out up to 16 mph. On top of that, he has a matchup against Griffin Canning, who has been putrid against lefties. Canning enters tonight with a .429 wOBA, a 7.07 FIP and all eight of the home runs he’s allowed to lefties. When he’s on the road, like he is tonight, Canning has an overall .434 wOBA with a 7.35 FIP and a 9.56 ERA. With the conditions for tonight’s game being elite for hitting, I’ll take PCA to take an alternate total bases prop of 3+.

Pittsburgh Pirates -0.5 Run Line Through First Five Innings

Odds: +105 | Opponent: Philadelphia Phillies

I feel as if Braxton Ashcraft isn’t getting the love he deserves in 2026. Arguably their best starter not named Paul Skenes, Ashcraft sports a 3.07 ERA with an xERA of 2.87, a 9.9 K/9 and a 45% ground ball rate. He’s been extremely efficient and hasn’t allowed more than two runs in 13 of the 16 starts he’s made. He has faced the Phillies once already and they were able to tag him for four runs through 6.2 innings. That said, he’s been better on the road, sporting a 2.93 ERA with a .271 wOBA and a 3.17 FIP.

The Phillies don’t have strong numbers overall against righties, which is what has my attention. Tonight’s expected lineup has a combined .282 wOBA with a .127 ISO and a K% of 21%. Those numbers get even worse against the curveball, which Ashcraft uses almost as much as his fastball. The Phillies lineup for tonight combines for a .243 wOBA and a .117 ISO against that pitch from a right-handed pitcher this season.

Then we have the matchup for the Pirates against Aaron Nola, who continues to struggle. Last time out against the Pirates, he allowed six runs on six hits, including two home runs, through 3.2 innings, his shortest outing of the season. Nola continues to get crushed by left-handed bats, with a .391 wOBA, a 6.21 FIP and 11 of the 17 home runs he’s allowed. The Pirates will likely have at least six in the lineup tonight.
