Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Francisco Giants prediction, pick for MLB on Monday 6/29/26

Milwaukee comes home with a little irritation baked into the opener. The Brewers just lost an extra-inning game to the Cubs after going 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position, stranding 10, and wasting a bases-loaded chance in the 10th. They still sit 50-31, still lead the division by 5.5 games, and still swept Cincinnati last week. The Reds arrive with a louder weekend after scoring 19 runs in Pittsburgh, but this matchup gives Milwaukee the cleaner scoring path. The game has paths toward offense on both sides, yet the best angle starts with Nick Lodolo’s damage profile and Cincinnati’s late-inning leakage. Below is my preview, prediction, and pick for today’s baseball game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the San Francisco Giants.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Diamondbacks vs. Giants prediction, preview

Tyler Mahle gives Arizona a beatable matchup, though his profile needs some precision. He is 1-7 with a 5.49 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, 65 hits, 38 ER, 11 HR, 26 walks, and 61 strikeouts over 62.1 innings. His 89.6 mph average exit velocity, 37.6% hard-hit rate, 8.9% barrel rate, .364 wOBA, and .316 xwOBA suggest some ERA bloat. Eduardo Rodríguez gives Arizona the steadier run-prevention lane at 6-2 with a 2.27 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 71 hits, 24 ER, nine HR, 33 walks, and 62 strikeouts across 84.1 innings. Rodríguez has also gone at least 6.2 innings, allowed one or zero earned runs, and struck out five in each of his last two starts.

Arizona’s offense is top-heavy, which matters for the market. Corbin Carroll carries the dangerous profile with 13 HR, nine steals, a .278/.361/.532 line, .254 ISO, .382 wOBA, 143 wRC+, and 3.5 WAR. Marte adds 15 HR, a .208 ISO, .470 slugging percentage, and 115 wRC+, while Gabriel Moreno brings a .280/.361/.439 line, .352 wOBA, and 123 wRC+. Geraldo Perdomo gives the top half a different kind of pressure with a 14.5% walk rate, 12.5% strikeout rate, .357 OBP, 11 steals, and 105 wRC+. The drop-off after that group keeps Arizona’s team total priced too tightly, with Nolan Arenado at 92 wRC+, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. at 56 wRC+, and Pavin Smith at 47 wRC+.

San Francisco has enough bats to keep the total alive if the lineup holds. Luis Arraez gives the Giants elite contact at .324/.360/.447, a 3.8% strikeout rate, 123 wRC+, and 3.1 WAR. Casey Schmitt brings the loudest season power with 16 HR, seven steals, a .290/.316/.508 line, .219 ISO, and 128 wRC+. Devers adds 14 HR and a .212 ISO, though his 29.6% strikeout rate and 107 wRC+ keep the profile volatile. Bryce Eldridge owns the best rate-power sheet at six HR, a 13.5% walk rate, .279/.374/.486 line, .374 wOBA, and 141 wRC+. Willy Adames’ back spasms, Heliot Ramos’ first series back from a quad injury, and Schmitt’s illness make the expected order harder to trust.

Giants vs. Diamondbacks pick, best bet

The prior Mahle-Rodríguez meeting supports the full-game separation angle. Arizona won 7-5, with Rodríguez allowing two runs, six hits, and two walks while striking out six across six innings. Mahle allowed three runs, three hits, three walks, and three strikeouts across five innings, which fits his current survival-and-traffic profile. San Francisco’s bullpen creates the late opening, with a No. 27 power rank and a 5.79 ERA over the previous seven days. Caleb Kilian has thrown 2.2 innings and 59 pitches with a 16.92 ERA in that window, while Adrian Houser owns a 5.53 ERA and 5.21 FIP across 68.1 innings. Chase Field is listed roof-in, so this handicap leans on pitching, lineup health, and bullpen leverage.

The best bet is Diamondbacks -1.5 at +143, playable to +125. Arizona team total over 4.5 has matchup appeal, but the lineup’s cold stretch and bottom-half drag make the tax uncomfortable. Diamondbacks first-five -0.5 works on starter edge, but Mahle’s .316 xwOBA and strikeout ability give him enough early survival paths. Over 9 needs Giants health, Rodríguez regression, and better San Francisco conversion than the season has shown. Arizona can cash the run line through six strong Rodríguez innings, Mahle traffic, and a vulnerable Giants bullpen.

Projected score: Diamondbacks 6, Giants 3.

Best bet: Diamondbacks -1.5 (+145) vs. Giants
