Major League Baseball has a nine-game main slate on the books to get the new fantasy baseball week off to a fast start this Monday. Contests lock at 7:07 p.m. ET, and with 18 teams in the player pool, there is plenty of star power to consider building around. As you pinpoint your high-salary stars to build around, you may need to dive into the bargain bin and find a few MLB DFS Value Picks. In this post, we’ll look at three of my top MLB DFS Value Picks, who each bring excellent upside at a bargain salary.
- SP Anthony Kay, Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland Guardians, $6,500: Kay has 15+ FPTS in five straight home starts, including 21 FPTS in his last home game against the Dodgers. He’ll be in a much more favorable matchup vs. the Guardians lineup, which is missing key pieces due to injury.
- 3B Blaze Jordan, St. Louis Cardinals vs. Arizona Diamondbacks, $2,900: Jordan has averaged 8.0 FPTS per game since joining the Cardinals and has a great matchup against Merrill Kelly. The 23-year-old righty brings plenty of power and upside from under $3,000.
- 2B/3B Anthony Seigler, Boston Red Sox at Colorado Rockies, $2,700: Seigler had good plate discipline numbers at Triple-A while showing solid power and speed potential. He could be hitting leadoff at Coors Field, which gives him too much upside to pass up at this salary.

SP Anthony Kay, Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland Guardians, $6,500
The White Sox open their series against the Guardians on Monday by giving the ball to lefty Anthony Kay, and even though he’s coming off a few rough outings, I like his chance to bounce back and be one of the best value options from the probable pitchers for Monday night. Kay is 6-2 in his 13 starts this year but has a 4.61 ERA after giving up 12 runs in his last three starts. Those three starts were against the Phillies, Dodgers and Yankees, though, and he’ll have a much more fantasy-friendly matchup on Monday night against the Guardians without Jose Ramirez (hand), Angel Martinez (foot) and Chase DeLauter (rib).
Kay has been much better at home than on the road this year, averaging 17.8 FPTS over his last five home starts with 15+ FPTS in each of those five outings. He had over 20 FPTS in two of those games, while earning wins over the Dodgers and Twins. Kay’s strikeout numbers aren’t elite in most outings, but he has shown a few games with upside in that category, including his last home start, when he posted a season-high seven punchouts against the Dodgers. Since he’s so affordable and gets a favorable matchup, he’s a great option on the mound in Monday’s MLB DFS value picks.
3B Blaze Jordan, St. Louis Cardinals vs. Arizona Diamondbacks, $2,900
It’s the day after Father’s Day, so I’ll let you fill in your favorite “dad joke” here about Blaze being on fire since the Cardinals promoted him from Triple-A. Jordan is hitting .286 with a homer and an average of 8.0 FPTS in his nine games following his promotion from Triple-A. Jordan hit 11 homers in 57 games for the Memphis Redbirds with a .402 wOBA and a 41.8% hard-hit rate. His hard-hit rate has actually been higher in the majors at 45.2% and he already has a pair of barrels as well.
Jordan has hit safely in four of his last five games and already has three multi-hit performances. He showed his high ceiling with 28 FPTS in his big game against the Twins last Saturday and has a very high ceiling in a favorable matchup against Merrill Kelly ($7,000), who has a 5.81 ERA and has allowed 15 home runs in 12 starts this season.
2B/3B Anthony Seigler, Boston Red Sox at Colorado Rockies, $2,700
The Red Sox just called up Seigler from Triple-A with Isiah Kiner-Falefa (forearm) and Nick Sogard (oblique) on the injured list. The 27-year-old lefty hit .290 with three homers, four stolen bases, a 16.4% walk rate, a matching 16.4% strikeout rate and a .387 wOBA in 37 games in Worcester.
He hit leadoff on both Saturday and Sunday, going 1-for-8 with a run scored and only five FPTS, but since he could be hitting leadoff for the Red Sox at Coors Field on Monday night, he becomes value that’s almost too good to pass up. Seigler has both power and speed potential, and against Ryan Feltner ($5,000) the lefty has a strong chance to get another start Monday night.
Seigler fits at either 2B or 3B, which makes him workable in multiple roster builds and could be one of the best bargain values on the board this Monday. The Red Sox offense has been far from special this season, but getting a potential leadoff hitter at Coors Field is a move that’s too good to pass up at $2,700.
