The Dream and Fever meet in a big primetime matchup in the WNBA on Thursday night. Of course, we get to see Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese continue their rivalry, but this is also an impactful game in the standings. The Dream (9-4) currently hold down second place in the Eastern Confernce, but the Fever (9-5) can jump them with a win on Thursday. Let’s breakdown a betting angle on the game below.
Dream vs. Fever prediction
The Fever got off to a shaky start this season, which began with a loss at home to the Wings. Through 10 games, Indiana was just 5-5, coming off losses in three of their last four games. There was a narrative surrounding the team that they weren’t playing together and weren’t giving their best effort on defense.
The Fever have since come together and rallied over their last four games, going 4-0 and winning their last three by an average of more than 13 points per game. Thursday’s matchup against the Dream will be the toughest test since this winning streak began, but I’m expecting the Fever to remain locked in.
The Dream will be seeking revenge from a 12-point loss to the Fever a couple of weeks ago, which was one of the lone bright spots for Indiana early in the season. While the Dream are having a terrific season, they’ve also struggled against the elite of the WNBA. Outside of a one-point win over Minnesota in the season opener, Atlanta has lost all four of its other games against top competition. Those losses came in a rematch with the Lynx, against the Aces and Liberty, and the last time they met these Fever.
I think the Dream continue to struggle on the road against a strong team that’s now in a good groove.
Dream vs. Fever Pick, Best Bet
The Fever are putting it together at the right time, and know they have some ground to make up. It’s a big game for both teams, so we should see both teams at their best. But Indiana’s best is better than Atlanta’s, and I expect the Fever to keep rolling.
