At 32 years old, Harry Kane enters what could be his final World Cup for England still at the top of his game. The legendary striker has put in eight goals across two World Cups for his country, and he’ll need to significantly add to that tally if England are finally going to break the curse and bring it home.

77′: Jordan Pickford answers the bell, making his first two saves of the game to keep England ahead.
73′: A triple attacking substitution for England replaces three key playmakers under Harry Kane, as Bukayo Saka, Morgan Rogers and Marcus Rashford replace Noni Madueke, Anthony Gordon and Declan Rice.
70′: The second-half hydration break leads us into the final 20 minutes of what may be the best 2026 World Cup match yet! Will England hold on to secure three points, or can Croatia battle back? Only time will tell.
57′: Harry Kane is EVERYWHERE in Croatia’s box but Livaković continues to deny him and England!
56′: A double save from Livaković keeps England from taking a two-goal lead! England have found the back of the net three times in this game but Croatia’s keeper has still been stellar.
47′: ENGLAND TAKES THE LEAD AGAIN!! Jude Bellingham wins a 1-on-1 race against the Croatian defense and slots the ball across the goal into the corner. Back and forth we go!!
46′: The second half is underway, as England and Croatia are currently level at 2-2.
45+5′: CROATIA EQUALIZE AGAIN!! A brilliant backwards header by his teammate sets up Petar Musa for a free strike, and he slides it into the back of the net. We head to halftime, and Harry Kane has been stellar but England won’t be happy with the current result.
42′: A BRACE FOR HARRY KANE!! The forward broke free on a corner and perfectly placed his header into the net, equaling Gary Lineker’s record of 10 World Cup goals for England. Kane was +600 to score two goals against Croatia.
36′: GOAL FOR CROATIA! After lacking conviction for the last 20 minutes, Martin Baturina delivered an outside-of-the-box screamer to equalize. Pickford got a hand on it but had no real chance.
28′: Disaster averted. Rare sloppiness from Kane in possession gives Croatia the ball in the final third, but nothing comes of the chance.
22′: As we reach the hydration break, Harry Kane has quickly put his stamp on this game. The star striker is the reason England leads, and has also made his presence known in transition as a facilitator.
12′: GOALLLLLLLL!! Kane is DENIED on his first penalty attempt, but then awarded a retake as Livaković came off his line early. The second attempt is pure, as Kane gives England a 1-0 lead and starts his 2026 World Cup campaign with a bang.
