In the co-main event of UFC Freedom 250, Ciryl Gane knocked out Alex Pereira in the second round to become a two-time UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion. Gane should have a unification bout with the reigning Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall in the near future. The first contest between Gane and Aspinall ended early due to an eye poke.
Gane is now 14-2 with 10 finishes and is a two-time UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion. He is now 2-2 with one no contest in five UFC title fights. Pereira’s record stands at 13-4, and he is now 6-3 in UFC title fights. This is Pereira’s first loss by knockout since Israel Adesanya beat him at UFC 287 in April 2023.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Gane was +330 to win by KO/TKO/DQ and +1400 to win by second-round knockout before the contest.
