Dan Ndoye (+190)
Sometimes, you need to ride the hot hand. Ndoye has scored in four of his last five starts for the Swiss team, covering their UEFA Qualifier matches and friendlies in the lead-up to this World Cup. It’s impressive he managed to stay so hot while playing sparingly for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
His opponent, Qatar, lost all three matches in their debut World Cup while conceding seven goals. The Swiss attack has looked robust and will set the tone against an inferior Qatari side.
Scott McTominay (+210)
When Scott McTominay puts on his country’s colors, he turns into a different kind of beast. A prolific scoring midfielder at Napoli, McTominay has been on fire over Scotland’s recent competitive play. In 2024, he had 11 goals in 19 games across EURO 2024 and the UEFA Nations League. During the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, McTominay bagged a pair of goals in six games.
Facing a surprise World Cup team in Haiti, Scotland gets to set the tone here. The 83rd-ranked side according to FIFA, Haiti won’t stand much of a chance here. This game could get out of hand, with McTominay as one of the beneficiaries.
Kenan Yildiz (+260)
Yildiz has all the makings of a breakout star in this World Cup. The 21-year-old Juventus winger had 14 goals for his club this year and is in good form heading into his first-ever World Cup. As a teenager in the 2024 Euros, Yildiz struggled mightily, scoring only one goal in 14 matches. This time around, he has a different feel, scoring three times in seven qualification matches.
Australia can play some tough defense when they put their minds to it. But I believe this young, talented Turkish attack will be one of the stories of the group stage. Count on Yildiz to start his World Cup career with a bang.’
