New York Liberty vs. Atlanta Dream prediction, pick for Thursday 6/11/26

The Liberty and Dream meet on Thursday night in Atlanta as the top-two teams in the Eastern Conference. The winner of the game will be in sole possession of first place in the East, so this is a big game this early in the WNBA season. Let’s breakdown a betting angle below.

Liberty vs. Dream prediction

After a rough 3-4 start to the season, the Liberty have finally put together a strong stretch of basketball. New York has won five straight games, playing its way into the No. 2-seed in the Eastern Conference. The only team the Liberty are looking up at in the standings? The Dream.

Atlanta improved to 8-3 on Tuesday night, with a comeback victory against the Sky. It was a particularly person game for Angel Reece, who went to Chicago and put up 17 points and 17 boards against her former team. You could tell that one meant a lot to Atlanta, and specifically Reece, who now have to travel back home and face a hot team.

This one has letdown potential for the Dream, especially factoring in that the Liberty also come in with a slight rest advantage. Sabrina Ionescu, who has only played in one game this season, does remain sidelined for New York. However, the Liberty have showed solid depth during the win streak. It starts with the bigs up front in Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones, who should be able to neutralize Reece on the glass.

But New York has gotten strong contributions from the backcourt in Ionescu’s absence, with both Marine Johannes and Pauline Astier scoring in double figures. Satou Sabally missed the start of the season while still recovering from a serious concussion she suffered during the 2025 WNBA Finals with Phoenix. But the former No. 2 overall pick has been rounding into form in June, and become a big part of the winning streak for New York.

Liberty vs. Dream Pick, Best Bet

As strong as the Dream have been this season, they could be due for some regression. I expect a letdown spot after an emotional win and traveling back home on short rest. A veteran team that is red-hot after an early season slump, all of which the Liberty are, feel like the perfect team to capitalize on the situation.

I like New York to take this one outright, but will gladly grab a few points in the underdog role.

Best Bet: Liberty +3.5 (-108)
