Best Bet for Canada vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Canada Moneyline: One of the three host nations will get their World Cup started with a win in front of their home crowd. Canada enters this game in fine form, having failed to lose each of their last eight matches.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup has finally arrived, and the opening match of Group B will feature one of the host nations, Canada, facing off against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Let’s dive into my favorite bet for this match.
Canada vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina Prediction, Pick
Canada enters the World Cup ranked 30th in the FIFA rankings, while Bosnia comes in at 64th in the world.
The Canadians automatically qualified for the tournament as one of the three host nations, while Bosnia got through the UEFA play-off, taking out Italy in the final. I think this will be a closely contested game, but Canada should have the advantage. Jonathan David is the star man up top for Canada. The Juventus forward had a lackluster season with only 10 goal contributions in Serie A, but the talent is there. They also have one of the best left backs in the world, Alphonso Davies. The Bayern Munich player has returned from injury ahead of the World Cup and will be a huge piece of this team.
Bosnia on the other hand, will be relying on their aging star, Edin Džeko. Now at 40 years old, this is certainly his last major tournament, but I don’t see many other stars on this team. They did extremely well to make it to this point, but Canada should be a level above what the Bosnians can produce.
Canada are unbeaten in eight matches coming into this tournament, although they were all friendlies. Bosnia were slightly fortunate to even make it this far, winning a penalty shootout against both Wales and Italy in the European qualifying play-offs. The Canadians will start their World Cup with a crucial three points.
Best Bet: Canada Moneyline (-125)
