The Stanley Cup Final between the Hurricanes and the Golden Knights is knotted at two apiece, with Carolina playing host on Thursday night in Game 5. First puck drop is set for 8:00 p.m. ET. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Carolina is a -162 Moneyline favorite, and the game’s total is set at O/U 6.5 goals.

Below, I’ll break down my favorite NHL player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for tonight’s Game 5 matchup.

Best NHL player prop bets for Stanley Cup Final Game 5

Jordan Staal 3+ Shots on Goal (+155)

The 37-year-old has been lights out this series, scoring five goals across the first four games, while averaging 3.5 shots on goal and 4.2 shot attempts per game. He leads all skaters in both shots and goals, and the Hurricanes know that Carter Hart is slowly reeling in net. Hart looked sharp across the Golden Knights’ first three rounds of the postseason, but he’s been exposed by Carolina through the first four games of the Stanley Cup Final. Hart sports a 4.00 GAA and .861 SV% this series, and Carolina has been aggressive offensively, averaging 29.0 shots per game. Staal keeps scoring, and in order to do that, he must shoot the puck.

Noah Hanifin 3+ Blocked Shots (+110)

Hanifin has blocked 13 shots this series, clearing this total in three of four games. With how aggressive Carolina has been offensively, I expect Hanifin to continue clogging the shooting lanes tonight in Game 5. He ranks fourth in blocked shots this entire postseason, and the Vegas defenders have shown no fear this series when it comes to giving their bodies up to make plays. The Hurricanes have led all teams in shots per game this postseason, and they ranked second during the regular season. Plus, these games have been action-packed and high-scoring, and that should result in plenty of opportunities for defenders to block shots.
