Best World Cup Anytime Goalscorer Bets for Friday, June 12

  • Edin Džeko: Despite being 40 years old, Džeko is still a proven goalscorer and is still putting up numbers. Bosnia might not win this game, but if they score it will likely be #11 putting the ball in the back of the net.
  • Folarin Balogun: The former Arsenal forward will be the main man for the United States up top in this tournament, and he’s coming off a club campaign with Monaco that saw him net 18 times.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup has finally arrived, and Groups C and D will get started on Friday as we see two of the host nations, Canada and the USA start their respective campaigns.

In the first game, Canada are -125 favorites on the moneyline, while a draw is available at +270. Fancy a Bosnia and Herzegovina win? They are +350 on the moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook.

We are then followed by the opening game of Group D that sees the United States as -105 favorites on the moneyline, while a draw is available at +245. Fancy a Paraguay win? They are +295 on the moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Edin Džeko (+370)

Even at his age, Džeko can still score with the best of them. Only four players scored more times than him in the UEFA World Cup qualifying, as his six goals was tied for the fifth most in Europe. He only played 11 times for Schalke this season, but still found the net on six occasions. He may not move around the way he used to when he was younger, but the former Man City forward still hasn’t lost his touch in front of the net. Bosnia will have their hands full in this game against Canada who will be in front of their home fans, but if the Bosnians get on the scoresheet in this one, look no further than Edin Džeko.

Folarin Balogun (+220)

Folarin Balogun and Christian Pulisic are the two most likely goalscorers for the United States, but I’m going to go with the center forward in this one. Balogun netted 18 times for Monaco last season, and had career-best numbers in Ligue 1 and the Champions League. His UCL run was especially impressive, given he was going against the best of the best in terms of competition. Balogun scored five times in 10 appearances in that competition. In the 2024 Copa America, he scored twice in three matches. In the two years since, he’s scored four goals in international friendlies after starting five games.
