Love Island USA Power Rankings After Week 1

Love Island USA Power Rankings After Week 1

Published:

By: Cooper Albers

We’ve officially reached the first off-night on Love Island USA’s Season Eight calendar. This well-earned 24-hour break from the drama presents the perfect time to reflect on the first week in the villa — and see where our islanders stand going forward.

Let’s dive into my power rankings for Love Island USA Season Eight after Week 1.

Love Island USA Power Rankings

  1. Aniya

An absolute no-brainer. From the moment she arrived, Aniya has been the most sensible, composed, and, dare I say, normal person in the villa. As this season’s resident therapist, she has offered a shoulder to lean on for all her fellow islanders while also maintaining strong communication and empathy during her own hiccups with KC. Her dad, former NBA player Donnell Harvey, might not qualify as “Elite Ball Knowledge” for much longer.

  1. KC

KC swiftly recovered from his fumble at Monday’s slumber party, reassuring Aniya that no amount of red paint on his chest can sway his confidence in their connection — though the incoming bombshells may soon test his words. But until then, he’s churning out LeBron James-level reaction memes and clocking his fellow islanders.

  1. Sol

We haven’t seen a bombshell like Sol in quite some time. In less than 24 hours, she had boys reminiscing about their ex-girlfriends and wound up pressing the red button on an OG couple. A few kisses with Sincere — one nearly caught by Melanie — cement her spot in this week’s top three. Time will tell if Sol can keep up this Hall of Fame trajectory.

  1. Trinity

Trinity is playing Love Island the right way. She continues to strengthen her bond with Bryce — arguably the most secure relationship in the villa due to being built on a foundation of friendship — while avoiding locking herself into a closed-off relationship too soon. And at just 22, she’s also defying expectations as one of the most grounded and mature voices in the villa.

  1. Bryce

Also content to let things develop organically, Bryce spends his time letting Trinity give him manicures and wearing her sunglasses while they gossip about the crumbling relationships around them. Add in a budding bromance with Zach, and you’ve got what feels like one of this season’s best hangs.

  1. Sincere

Sincere is primed for a Jeremiah and Iris moment after Tuesday night’s vote. Already mired in a toxic relationship with Melanie, he made the right call to come clean about locking lips with Sol, rather than play dumb until it inevitably blew up in his face. But he’s done little to escape his two-timing past; he only fessed up to one of his three smooches with the new bombshell.

  1. Kayda

Kayda took full accountability for getting carried away during Monday’s slumber party — and now an overreaction from Zach grants her free runway to explore other connections in the villa. Charismatic and cool, stocks on Season Eight’s OG bombshell are only going up. And if, for some reason, you weren’t sure where New Hampshire was on the map before, she’s got you covered.

  1. Kenzie

At long last, Kenzie has found her cowboy. This season’s most eccentric contestant, already coupled up with Corbin, now gets a chance to pursue what she’s really looking for in a man after new bombshell Caleb crashed Monday’s slumber party. There are far worse problems on Love Island than having a roster.

  1. Beatriz

Beatriz has lost a bit of steam since coupling with Gabriel, but we could be heading for an all-time blowup when she uncovers his dubious behavior with the new arrivals. In the meantime, she remains a reliably funny, self-aware, and grounded presence that isn’t afraid to call out her fellow islanders.

  1. Zach

Zach spent Tuesday’s episode pouting after Kayda gave new bombshell Caleb a warm welcome during the slumber party — now second-guessing how quickly their relationship is progressing. After pulling Jen for a chat, he seems to be fishing for a reaction from Kayda, putting himself at risk of suffering the same fate as his brother, Season Seven’s Charlie.

  1. Caleb

The “Mr. Steal Your Girl” nickname rarely fits anyone as naturally as it does Caleb. Season Eight’s newest arrival made an immediate impression, bringing the Southern comfort that Kenzie has been longing for. Though still sharing a bed with Corbin, there’s arguably not a single soul watching who believes it will last beyond this week’s recoupling.

  1. Jen

We haven’t learned much about Jen yet, so her standing could shift significantly in the coming weeks. That said, she seemed to hit it off with Gabriel after a long kiss outside of a challenge, and her past modeling experience with Bryce adds an intriguing wrinkle to the villa’s dynamic.

  1. Melanie

It may not be her intention, but Melanie is playing with fire in her relationship with Sincere. Whether she’s sugarcoating her behavior or cheering on new bombshells as if her hometown Eagles just won the Super Bowl, her actions come off as shady — and several other islanders have noticed. But while her standing after this week’s recoupling remains a mystery, she’s making for some great TV in the process.

  1. Gabriel

This dude is so cooked. Gabriel’s lustful side quests outside his relationship with Beatriz are about to catch up with him, especially now that other islanders have already caught him in the act. He’s been doing most of his talking with puckered lips, and he better hope his kiss with Jen was enough to keep him on the island — because his moment with Sol certainly didn’t help.

  1. Corbin

On Monday, Corbin watched “The Guy She Tells You Not To Worry About” waltz in and sweep Kenzie off her feet. He has yet to show a hint of personality, nor has he developed any additional connections. Corbin may be on the first flight out following this week’s recoupling.
