The PGA TOUR heads to the North Course (par 70, 7,389 yards, bentgrass/POA mix greens) of TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon, Ontario, for the RBC Canadian Open. This will be the second straight year TPC Toronto has hosted the RBC Canadian Open. At TPC Toronto last year, which was the course’s PGA TOUR debut, Ryan Fox (-18) defeated Sam Burns in a playoff. This week’s field consists of 145 players and there will be a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.

- Taylor Pendrith to make the cut (-190)
- John Keefer to make the cut (-160)
- Peter Malanti to make the cut (+168)
Taylor Pendrith to make the cut
Pendrith is a Canadian who takes pride in competing in his home country. At the RBC Canadian Open, the 35-year-old has made 4-of-5 cuts and finished inside the top-30 the past two years. Pendrith finished T27th at TPC Toronto a year ago and he carded a 5-under 65 in the first round. Returning to the venue as the maker of six straight solo cuts, Pendrith’s strong cut making ways in Canada should continue.
John Keefer to make the cut
Keefer missed the cut at TPC Toronto last season, but this was excusable, as it was just his third start on the PGA TOUR. Keefer travels back to TPC Toronto this week riding a four-made-cut streak. In his last two starts, Keefer has finished T9th at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson and T35th at the Charles Schwab Challenge. At both these tournaments, the Baylor product gained strokes on approach and with his putter. Additionally, he shot under par in 6-of-8 rounds, most notably with a career-low 8-under 63 at TPC Craig Ranch. Keefer ranks top-35 in both SG OTT and SG APP this season, and he should have a much better showing in his second attempt at TPC Toronto this week.
Peter Malanti to make the cut
After a bad start to his season, Malanti has found a rhythm, missing only one cut in his last six solo starts. His most recent outing came at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson three weeks ago and Malanti finished a season-best T19th at TPC Craig Ranch. The two-time PGA TOUR winner shot under par in all four of his rounds and he gained strokes on approach and with his putter at the par 71. Malanti now makes his way to TPC Toronto, where he finished T59th last season, including a 4-under 66 in the second round. Malanti has been reliable when competing north of the border, making the cut in five of his last six starts at the RBC Canadian Open and he should once again advance through the cut at TPC Toronto.
