The Pittsburgh Pirates duel the Los Angeles Dodgers at 6:40 p.m. ET, but there’s a change on the lineup card with just an hour to go before first pitch.
Pirates slugger Oneil Cruz has been scratched from Tuesday’s lineup due to a hand injury and lower extremity tightness.
Jake Mangum will play centerfield in his place.
Cruz, 27 years old, is in the midst of a career-best campaign. He’s slashing .264/.350/.472 for an .822 OPS, tallying 66 hits with 45 runs, 44 RBI and 14 homers. Of those stats, he’s second on the team in knocks, first in RBI and runs, and second in home runs as well.
The Pirates are 34-32 prior to tonight’s game against the Dodgers. They’re third in the NL Central as things stand.
