Taking a look at the data from DraftKings Sportsbook users, public sentiment has now seemingly flipped — even after Vegas went up 2-1 last time these teams played.
The Moneyline odds are particularly interesting given that the Hurricanes are now favorites to win on the road, a change from Game 3 in Las Vegas despite their previous loss. Carolina sees 63% of total bets and 75% of the betting handle in its favor, leaving just 37% of bets and 25% of the handle on the Golden Knights to go up 3-1 in the series. Perhaps that has something to do with a possible change in net for the Canes, who swapped Frederik Andersen for Brandon Bussi down the stretch last time out.
The betting splits on the puck line are far less intriguing, though. Per the data, 63% of wagers and 64% of the betting handle backs Vegas to cover at +1.5. In contrast, 37% of wagers are backing the Hurricanes at -1.5 just like in Game 3, but only 36% of the handle is in that direction after seeing significantly more of a share last game.
As for the game total, the total bets on the over has dropped to just 77%, but a gargantuan 97% of the handle favors over 5.5 goals. There have been a whopping 25 combined goals across the first three games of the series, leading to three consecutive cashes for the over.
