The RBC Canadian Open is the next stop on the PGA TOUR. There is a great field for this year’s tournament at TPC Toronto.

RBC Canadian Open: First Round Leader Picks
The RBC Canadian Open is the final chance for players to get ready before next week’s US Open at Shinnecock. While Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are not playing this week, it is one of the strongest fields that Canada has seen in years. Four of the top-10 players in the world are playing in Toronto this year. The defending champion at the RBC Canadian Open is Ryan Fox, who is in the field this week. The field also features Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa and Aaron Rai.
The tournament will be played on the North Course at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley. It is a par-70 course that ranges 7,389 yards. This is a full-field event with a standard 36-hole cut. This is the third-longest par-70 course that hosts an annual PGA TOUR event. The course is full of challenging long par 4s. Players who can hit their mid-irons well into those long par 4s will have a lot of success this week.
Tommy Fleetwood FRL (+2600)
It had not been a great start to the season for Tommy Fleetwood, but he is showing his quality as of late. Fleetwood did not play well at the PGA Championship. However, in his last two non-major starts, Fleetwood has two top-five finishes. He finished T5 at the Truist and T4 last week at the Memorial. Fleetwood has also played great golf in Canada in the past. In three career starts at the RBC Canadian Open, he has finished second, T6 and T21.
Despite his slow start, Fleetwood still ranks eighth on the PGA TOUR in Strokes Gained: Total. He ranks sixth in driving accuracy as well, which will keep him out of the challenging rough surrounding these tight fairways. When he’s on his game, Fleetwood is one of the best iron players in the world. Pairing those skills with the fact that Fleetwood ranks second on the PGA TOUR in scrambling from rough is a good sign that he will play great golf this week. As long as Fleetwood can roll in a few putts, he has a great chance to lead after the first round in Toronto.
Michael Brennan FRL (+5200)
Michael Brennan is one of the rising stars on the PGA Tour. He got his first career win in 2025 and set himself up to play in all of the big events this year. It had been a struggle for Brennan for much of his first season as a full-time PGA TOUR player. That is, until his most recent start at the Charles Schwab Challenge. Brennan finished T6 at that event with four rounds under 70. Across the past two years on the PGA Tour, Brennan has performed his best on long courses with easy scoring conditions. He can launch the ball off the tee, which will give him a big edge on this long course. Brennan might not string four rounds together, but he has a chance to go low and lead after Thursday if he can keep up that momentum from Colonial.
