Before we head to Shinnecock Hills for the U.S. Open next week, the PGA TOUR is hosting the RBC Canadian Open. For the second year in a row, this event will be played at the North Course (par 70, 7,389 yards, bentgrass/POA mix greens) of TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon, Ontario. In this course’s PGA TOUR debut last season, Ryan Fox (-18) won by defeating Sam Burns in a playoff. The RBC Canadian Open will be hosting a field of 145 players and there will be a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.
The North Course of TPC Toronto is a long tree-lined track that features wide fairways, thick rough, big greens, 48 bunkers and water in play on just three holes. With the North Course being a lengthy setup that presents generous fairways, this is a driver-heavy venue where long hitters have an advantage. At TPC Toronto a year ago, five of the top-six finishers finished top-20 in driving distance. More importantly, you must have a strong performance with your irons and score well on the par fours to win at the TPC Toronto. When Fox won here a year ago, he finished the tournament top-six in both SG APP and par four scoring.

Top DraftKings PGA TOUR DFS Bargain Plays for the RBC Canadian Open
Andrew Putnam ($7,400): Putnam has made 11-of-14 cuts with four top-25 finishes this season and is fresh off a T17 finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge two weeks ago. Putnam opened that event with a 6-under 64, which was one stroke shy of the tournament low.
The former PGA TOUR winner has gained strokes on approach and with his putter in three straight starts. He now makes his way to TPC Toronto, where he finished T6th last season, marking his second top-10 finish in three starts at the RBC Canadian Open. Putnam shot an 8-under 62 in the second round at TPC Toronto last season and the veteran is a no-brainer at this low salary.
Zach Bauchou ($7,300): Bauchou is playing the best golf of his career right now. The 30-year-old has finished T28th or better at five straight tournaments, most notably with a T6 at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson three weeks ago. Bauchou has shot under par in seven of his last eight rounds and he has gained strokes on approach in three consecutive starts.
Bauchou ranks top-35 in both SG APP and par four performance this season, and he is currently the 155th ranked player in the world, which is 50 spots higher than his ranking to begin the season. Bauchou’s game sets up well for TPC Toronto and he should finish inside the top-30 in his first attempt at the venue.
Jackson Suber ($7,000): Making his RBC Canadian Open debut last season, Suber finished T18th at TPC Toronto. He carded a 5-under 65 in the final round and ranked eighth in SG APP for the event. Suber was just the 240th ranked player in the world heading into last year’s RBC Canadian Open and now returns to TPC Toronto sitting 167th in the rankings. In his last three starts, Suber has finished T19th, fourth and T67th.
That fourth place finish came at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson three weeks ago, where Suber shot a career-low 10-under 61 in the second round. The 26-year-old has shot under par in 10 of his past 12 rounds, and his irons have been excellent this season, ranking 20th in SG APP. Suber also ranks 34th in proximity on approach shots from 200+ yards this season, which is a great sign for TPC Toronto. At this par 70 last year, 27.8% of the approach shots came from 200+ yards, an uptick compared to the PGA TOUR average of 23.6%. Suber carding another top-20 finish at TPC Toronto is a possibility and he needs to be included in your player pool at only $7,000.
