Best NHL player prop bets for Stanley Cup Final Game 3
Frederik Andersen under 21.5 saves (-105)
We’ve seen enough from Frederik Andersen over the last couple weeks to flip the script and fade the Hurricanes’ netminder. While he was on an incredible heater to start the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a .950 SV% through the eight games in the first two rounds, he’s now collapsed since the beginning of the Eastern Conference Final. Andersen’s SV% since then sits at an ugly .869 over a seven-game sample. Yikes. He got the job done in Game 2 of this series but needed overtime to get over 21.5 saves in that matchup, finishing with 23 saves on 26 shot attempts. In Game 1, he saved just 18 of the 23 attempts he saw. Those are exactly the kinds of lines we want to see for the under here, but he’s also averaging only 19.13 saves per game this postseason. Credit for that goes to Carolina’s defensive prowess, limiting opponent shot volume to an extreme degree at times. After going under 21.5 saves in nine of his starts during this playoff run, including five-of-seven since the ECF began, Andersen sees a fade here.
Mark Stone 1+ points (-150)
Vegas captain Mark Stone missed a couple games this postseason but has been incredibly effective when on the ice. The 34-year-old winger is at 11 points through 13 games, scoring six goals with five assists. Stone sees plenty of TOI at nearly 19 minutes a night and gets work with the top power-play unit, which is another major boost for his odds to record at least one point. He’s averaged two shots on goal per game this postseason as well, so he’s active as a shooter in addition to playmaking duties. After recording 73 points in 60 games during the regular season and a point in 10-of-13 games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, this looks like a super reliable pick that you can use as a builder play for parlays in particular (especially if Andersen’s play looks poor again).
